Bored of the players we are in for now. I want new blood! Let's sign 47 players.

 

Surely that would only be the case if we paid all deals upfront? Most transfers are spread over a couple of years or the length of contract nowadays.

No doubt there will be forgetful minds. Fans always want that 'one more hit' so to speak

Assuming we sign Migs, Toure, Aspas, Luis Alberto and Henri Ryan (three of which have been confirmed), we will still require a CB, DM and CF IMO. If Suarez goes, we may need two CF's but will we go out and sign three or four more? I sincerely doubt it

 

The issue is not whether we could do with two good keepers (obviously that would be preferable), but whether we can keep two good keepers happy.
Which of them is going to be content parked on the bench watching the other play, with a World Cup in the offing? Perhaps the suggestion of sending Ming out on loan if Pepe stays could keep them both happy, but then we'd still be left with the problem of who covers for him for the odd short-term injury.

 

my view is challenge for medals and you can keep "some" happy. the thing about keepers is age, if you look at city the older guy given was not going to accept 90k per week and the bench when the younger guy came in but if it had been the other way round hart would have stayed a year or two.

same at utd. foster hung round for a while.... in the end you can't keep both happy.... so this is why i think pepe is going next year.

 

That would make some sense, we might have said to Mig that if he hangs around for a season he'll then be number 1. Valdes moves on, Pepe goes to Barca, then he's in. All well and good except for the World Cup, still seems odd for him to be on the bench in a year when he'd want to be making sure he cemented his place.

 

Looks like Spurs are close to signing Paulinho, that'll be a decent signing for them.

 

It does make sense apart from one thing, Migs has said he has ambitions of being part of the Belgium world cup team and he's not going to achieve that sitting on our bench. I'm going to revert back to a tactic from January when we were linked with Walcott and put my left knacker on the line...we won't have both Migs and Pepe come 1 September

Saw that on the rumour thread this morning. Can't say I would have complained if we were looking to sign him, the only question mark is the immediate adjustment from Brazil to England

 

inter were said to have sold coutinho to finance a bid for paulinho as they thought he was better... what happened?

Supors will be seriously strengthened by his addition i think...

 

Where exactly does Paulinho play?

Is he an attacking midfielder? Bale was awesome in that role last season.

If he plays deeper then Dembele was also awesome.

I wonder what AVB has planned...

 

He's an all round central midfield player. Has played DM, CM and ACM. Abit like Ramires

For Brazil they use him in a midfield three, supporting the forwards but also working the midfield
