simply put have two keepers is no issue whatsoever. If reina stays one more year then we get a great benefit in bedding in minger into the anfield culture as it were and of course we get pepe.

    This.
At the minute, our backup keeper is bloody Jones! We would always need a new keeper regardless of whether Reina stays because he is not a reliable replacement. If Reina goes, I would expect us to sign another keeper on top of Mignolet anyway.

?? I said having too keepers is not a problem. Why are you bringing up the awful brad jones?

I'll actually go further. Pepe reina missed several games last seaso with injury and we had JOnes in letting the ball under him, through him and looking decidedly terrible at kicking. All in all even if pepe never moves having a GOOD replacement ready to go is a good thing.

  6. Being a bit harsh on Jones IMO. He's not the best keeper in the world but he did well when covering!

Luis Alberto has officially signed then. 3 signings before July is a nice change. If we can add Henri Ryan, Mignolet and a new defender then we can start to get rid of a few players.

It looks to me like we are trying to make as many of our signings as we can before letting any players go to avoid our mess up last summer when Carroll left with out a replacement coming in and our squad being left horribly thin up top.

Carroll left but that was because the fee was needed.

Once we have all our targets in, expect players to then leave.

how many did he flog again?

He's pretty poor and the boro fans were laughing when hodgson handed over 2 mil. FOr me he can't play off the ground and he's shaky to boot. Nice guy and all that but this is LFCand we want to challenge. We cannot be running about with this kind of stuff.

is there also a case that out financial year ends july 1.... are we trying to get all the losses in one year? who knows? Or maybe they all become "official" on july one and we minimise the loss and have all the year to sell players to balance the books.

one thing i would say is there is a tendancy for our fans to "forget" so while this is all good when suarez goes there will be a clamour to buy buy buy then.

Not necessarily. With Coutinho, Sturidge, Henderson, Sterling and Borini in place and Aspas and Luis Alberto coming in we have a good balance of pace, muscle, skill, creativity, and if we sign Mkit and Atsu that will boost that a lot further. That group should be able to bag a lot of goals. I think these players were always planned whether Suarez leaves or not.

If Suarez goes I think we will then only need to move to bring in a versatile striker quickly. Not go wild or spend wildly. We could either save the rest or invest it in midfield or defense.

If there was one thing we are lacking it is muscle. Our squad is very slight and tricky.

Hopefully if Mkhitaryan arrives we play him in midfield, let him go box to box. That'll give us Lucas, Gerrard and him in midfield, with Hendo, Allen and A.N.other covering... that's quite strong.

It also allows us to play Coutinho, Sturridge and Suarez/Aspas up top.

Would like a Wanyama type for midfield though.

If we sign Henri Ryan for £20mil then I can't see us spending £10mil on another midfielder like Wanyama (even if we could do with some strength in the middle). Especially as we're spending something similar on Mignolet and need another defender.

Question: If we sell Suarez do we use the cash to bring in a big name or do we continue to invest in lower profile but highly rated, or slightly off the radar players?

I think the latter, I would like to see us build a squad where there are no star players coming directly into the side via massive transfers, but emerging within it due to performances throughout the season. That way there is much more competition between the players and a sense of togetherness.

Think Mignolet will be an excellent signing, v happy about that.

Still want to see us ship out the likes of Downing, Spearing, Shelvey, that will come later after incoming business is done I expect.

  20. He is poor and you are right to say we require better but I still think your being harsh on his performances whilst Pepe was injured. Reina's made his fair share of ****-ups too!
