Even of we signed messi Pardew would play him in goal so its all pointless whatever we do.

LONG BALL ****E

You're missing the point - Joe wouldn't allow Messi to play in goal. He'd keep him as an impact sub, if Shola's struggling (which he never, ever will be, by the way).

This board is more fun when randomised.

Blimey - so if you two give me the lottery numbers, I'm guaranteed to be minted. Beardo - if we sign four of five players I'll be very, very impressed. Regardless of how many or if we sign someone for £5m (boa), we'll have no clue whether he's sh!te til May 2014. After all, aren't many of you whining your a$$es off that Anita is in fact a cracking player, despite the contrary evidence? So I assume any new players will be given the same leeway, yes? Else won't we all just be hypocrites? It's not like we're the kind of fans who believe media hype, or cry "crisis" when the MD we all pretty much hate gets sacked.....oh, wait....

I'm not talking about young and hungry players mate, I'm talking bottom feeders. Pardew says 'experience is needed' - I see that as a call for veterans of average ability to come up here and ply their trade. We will know by the first signing (whenever that will be) of what sort of player(s) will come in over the summer. I want to be wrong on this and will happily eat a slice of **** filled humble pie but I just can't see it with this Kinnear appointment. Its madness I tell you, MADNESS!

Where's Mr Mainwaring when you need him?

Ok, where's this quote? You mean from the back end of last season? You'll have to explain the problem to me - a team utterly bereft of leaders (save Coloccini) narrowly miss relegation and the manager's call for experience is wrong because.....?

Derek Llambias knows this much about football -----> 0. So he does not get or understand the issues with a smaller squad. I also don't think Pardew did a good enough job 'persuading' the board. Both issues have resulted in Ashley appointing a man who fits three criteria: 1) Must be into football, 2) Must be a trusted friend of owner, 3) Must replaced Llambias and make Pardew accountable. It's just he's not our cup of tea, but we've got to get over it.

If someone can tell me how we can collectively get the club under the ownership of the Jordanian Royal Family, or Bill Gates, or owned by The Church so we can spend infinite millions on foreigners, then let's go for it. Believe me, if this club were under Barry Moat right now, you'd be begging for a name as high profile as Joe Kinnear. We'd have not sent the gates for cleaning, they'd be pawned off. The ground would probably be Tesco's and we'd be playing our football on the Town Moor....though sadly not to any fans, nor in a stadium, nor with anything better than jumpers for goalposts.

Oh, and for the record, Mr. Graeme Bailey of SkySportsNews has gone colder than a kipper at Christmas. Last tweet on it claimed "United fans are getting excited over nothing". Sounds suspiciously like an insult to me. That said, he's not Joe Kinnear, so we'll let it slide.

None of us know what is going to happen mate. Look, I don't want us struggle and I'm not being a moaning **** for just the sake of it - I'm just honestly worried about next season and I believe Kinnear will do more harm than good. I want nothing more than to be completely and utterly wrong about my pessimism. We will only know more once the signings and exits begin

thats right when we we all learn as I have to never get excited.

Sorry to say but you are right on the button!! WE ARE ****ED! Only the stupid and foolhardy will suggest otherwise - The type of person that has no issues in life that had his arse wiped for him until he was 14 and thus always floats around the sky in puffy pillows.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Each to their own I say. Some are glass half full, some half empty, some have everlasting refills, some are "some bastard has drunk mine". Life takes allsorts. At the minute you're feeling like the latter, personally I think its a bit OTT but I can understand why as JK is a loon, and we have history in the realms of royally cocking things up. Time will tell.

I think we need balance on these boards so I like to see opinions from all 4 categories of the above. Me and Jim will provide the everlasting refills, you and Boa can do the "some bastard has drunk mine", we just need volunteers for the rest.

Can't imagine Richard Branson buying a football team. He's too good a business man and hardly needs a project to get him a bit of fame.

It's not going to be like the last time he tried to sell up, is it? Sets an unrealistic price, goes to Dubai to "look for a buyer" and improve his suntan then forgets what he was trying to sell in the first place

If we're getting £20m for that kid, I'll drive him to Monaco myself. Don't pi$$ your pants over nothing, players come and go.

This. Cabaye is a great player on form, probably one of the best CM's in the league, but too inconsistent and becoming injury prone.

Really is nice to see our fans thinking too much about the money side of football and less about who's playing for them.
