That's amazing, it actually looks like quite a good stadium for the time. The pitch also looks decent.
Can only remember stories told from various (much older) members of the family. Some say they preferred that Stadium to the KC.

Looks very nice! We've never really had a bad experience of a home ground then because for the time that looks great, nice pitch too.
So it was over the current wasteland the bridge path goes across? Wouldnt think it from looking as there is literally nothing even in reminder of what used to stand there. Perhaps the Allams should commemorate it somehow?
I had a mad busy week last week and it's left me with a nice quiet one this week. Even sneaked off for a ham and cheese toastie and a glass of wine at lunchtime.
Wasn't the capacity only 18000 and the stands wooden? - hardly the KC or for that matter BP - nostalgic all the same.. There used to be a bit of concrete wall to old ground left standing - had admission price on it - not sure if its still there - close to loop railway line and near where that guy sh*gged that goat!!
Look at all the culture in those photos/drawings. Maybe the City should enter some sort of cultural competition or summat......
The bit of old wall and the mound(which I believe was beneath the south stand) is still there, there's an image of it online somewhere, but I can't find it.

As a boy just after the war, while at RHS on the Boulevard, we used to stand on the railway bridge at lunchtime to watch the likes of Len Hutton, Johnny Wardle and Fred Trueman when it was a real Yorkshire cricket team on the Anlaby Road Circle. Can't remember seing he football stadium then though.
The original stadium ground was used as a training ground in later years when City had decamped to BP. I use to go and watch them train, Cliff Britton was the manager at the time. I use to take along my autograph book and one day the groundsman of the Circle told me to go over to the cricket stadium stands and asked to 2 gentlemen sat talking for their autographs, which I did. They signed and I said thank you and never thought about it again until much later when I looked at the autographs, they were Jimmy Binks the Hull born Yorkshire wicket keeper and one Sir Len Hutton.
Our 4th ground actually 1) Boulevard 2) Dairycoates 3) Circle Cricket Ground 4) Anlaby Rd as per your image Access was non existent, hemmed in on all sides, on leased land from the NER. Pitch was a gluepot too.
