What a signing he would be! Would cost probably about 6-8 million but I don't think he has ever failed to score more than 10 goals in a season, regardless of who he has played for! Would keep us up no doubt. He's a good lad as well... he gets a bad rep about what happened at Sunderland but they weren't very nice to him calling him greedy and all that, I would want to move as well. Before that he was at Spurs and was first choice their for all his time, and scored a lot of goals at the highest level, he's an England international as well with over 40 caps and 10+ goals. £40k a week isn't too much as long as he has a relegation or release clause in his contract, one bitten twice shy I hope.
I'd like to think there'd be no bad feeling amongst the other players about that level of wage cause they must realise his value in terms of experience and genuine goalscoring quality, if he keeps on scoring that is.

I would also say its quite funny, but there are a few people I know that are unconnected talking about the same things.
While the OP is obviously a tard and I've jokingly said we are gonna sign Bent on a few occasions. I do think he's worth going for. 70 grand is too much but at 50 grand a week for a proven goalscorer is a ****ing steal.

such a defeatist bunch you lot! Might as well stock up on all the premier league players we can i say... we'll need them at some point in the season. Plus if we sign Bent, we are very unlikely to go down, so they'll wanna come because we won't be offering them short term contracts with relegation release clauses.
