After a lot of googling the only 1969 film based on an autobiography I can find is Ring of Bright Water.
Welldone 999s, Antartica...the driest place... Ring of Bright Water was mainly filmed around Seil Island, the Firth of Lorne and Argyll. ...but no idea if the pictures are of Seil island...are they Kilburn? love this thread, glad I checked in yesterday
