Anyone seen much of him? Career seems to have been quite erratic so far apart from his current spell at Corinthians.
In the last ten years... Freddie Kanoute, Jermaine Defoe, Michael Carrick, Scott Parker Les Ferdinand, Matthew Etherington, Bobby Zamora, Calum Davenport We sign their best players when they get relegated, we give them our cast-offs to get them promoted again.
They had to sell most of those though. Chelsea don't have to sell Ba to Spurs nor do Spurs have to sell any of their players to us, same with West Ham.
No disrespect, but I don't think you think. We were closer to Chelsea than you lot all season, so if we're not, neither are you. Sneaking into a CL spot in the last 5mins of the season, with just about the most favourable run in any top side could wish for, playing teams with nowt to play for, cuts no ice with me.
No disrespect, but I don't think you've thought this through properly. All teams have to play each other twice, home and away. The teams that finish above the others do so on merit because they are better than those below them. If you can't last the distance, that says something about the quality of your squad. That we went on a championship winning run of form towards the end of the season says something about the quality of our squad. Sour Grapes won't help you get a CL spot, hard graft does
Paulinho just scored - He's played okay this evening, strong and good in the tackle and drifts forward well - reminds me of Sandro. Good positioning, touch and finish for his goal.
They have just said Honda is out of contract and would be available free - He would be a great signing!!!

Bollox, if you can't see the relevance of 'a good time to play a team', then this discussion is over because it does have significant relevance. And btw, could you refrain from judging my state of mind, sour grapes?? I'm a Spurs fan, I've been used to no rub of the green for years, and take it in my stride now with a degree of expectancy tbh, making a statement of events is anything but sour grapes. Once again your only worthy comment is an attempt to wum.
Doesn't Paulinho translate as Little Pauline? I'd give it a miss. EDIT: I'd give Big Pauline a miss too please log in to view this image
Ba looks at his best when he's playing on the shoulder of a defender or moving into channels, similar to our current 2 strikers that have struggled in a system that requires them to drift deeper and out wide at times for the balance of the team. Whenever Ba was played anywhere other than as a striker he looked crap, to be honest. It might not be a system that we all like but we need to sign players that fit into it well. It's important that we don't just go signing players because they look good at another club, it's how we ended clogging our squad and wage bill up with players like Bentley, Pienaar, etc. I don't claim to be entirely sure exactly what it is AVB is looking for in his strikers but as I say, he reminds me too much of the strikers that we currently have and unless we are signing an exceptional striker then they will need to be very well suited to the "ball on the floor" style that AVB seems to prefer.
Little Paulo - which begs the question who Big Paulo is. Presumably they could fit Jose Paulo Bezerra Maciel Junior on the back of Big Paulo's shirt.
Here's an article in the Telegraph about us (supposedly) close to a deal with Paulhino:- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...azil-and-Corinthians-midfielder-Paulinho.html It almost had me hoping that it might be true, until I got to the bit about Madrid being prepared to pay £60 million for Bale, then I knew it was nothing more than a massive wum attempt. Still, we can dream. Him and Sandro together would be simply awesome. Our new Waddle and Hoddle, perhaps?
He scored again against Japan yesterday. As the article suggests, his reputation is growing. If we're seriously interested, it looks like we'd better move fast for a change. If we don't, we'll get priced out of it again.
Can we put this in the tapping up column or s--t lazy journalism. Real Madrid sporting director Zinedine Zidane has urged 23-year-old midfielder Gareth Bale to speed up his move to the Bernabeu by asking to leave Tottenham. Either way it makes my blood boil the way the red tops lap it up!
