Are Hartlepool being bought by a consortium headed by Chris Turner? Janik Gers is supposed to be involved too as the money man.....heard 'owt, Poolie?
Aint heard that pal, don't realy pay attention to Pools much but seems as though they are up for it this season charging 100 deposits for season tickets and if reach there aim of selling 4,000 then the fans won't pay anymore which seems a good idea to me also apparently they are chasing Lua Lua who used to play for Newcastle aswell as our old player Tommy Miller who was of course at Hartlepool before and ex spurs man Michael Brown who is from the town
100 quid for a season ticket? That is serious good value £4.34 a match. I might get 1 for when the lad's are playing away.
When John Motson was asked for his goal of last season last night (5 Live) he picked Kevin Phillips' lob in the FA Cup. If a club like Hartlepool who can't afford £24 - £50 million want someone they can rely on for a goal when they need it, well, Phillips might be 38, but he's still a pretty good bet. His positional sense hasn't died.
If this, and the other rumoured signings listed, comes of for Pools, they will surely be promotion contenders. A player with the class of SKP, despite age, would net bag-fulls at that level. Just to piss on the chips though, when Phillips went to WBA ahead of a return here, he said it was because he didn't wish to uproot his young family from the Midlands, combined with his growing media career, i can't see it happening, but will love it if i'm proved wrong. I'll never forget how magnificent Pools 10k of fans were in the FA Cup the other season, i din't give a **** about them before that, but have had a soft spot for them since.
Phillips would still be a revelation in the lower leagues. What a great signing he would be for Hartlepool.
I still reckon SKP could do a job for a low premiership side so he would be a fantastic signing for league 1. Natural born goalscorer!
My Boss is a massive Poolie and has taken a few staff to a few Harltepool matches. I promise you its canny crack. Yards from the pitch, it feels like footie used to be like and its a decent little atmosphere. He just told me today he thought I'd buy a Poolie season ticket if superkev signs, such is my admiration of the man. And I said I probably would! He had heard that Laurent Robert may be signing for the Pools. at £100 per season ticket, I am tempted to buy one for times we are not playing. Went to 4 matches at pools last season and enjoyed every one.
not to be a stick in the mud here, but dont you think the club would want supporters who pay 100 for a ticket to be at every game, lets say they sell 4000 but only 2500 turn up every game, it wont be great for them will it, they want the bums on seats, not just the £100 from each sale.
