Considering the Hooper one was the first bid, it won't be the last one either. Schmeichel, 50/50. Anyway, it's early days.
we have to accept I think that with our well documented tightly managed plans for transfer fee's and wages, we're going to get rejected more than we get accepted. we'll get accepted when it matters I'm sure.
Still early days, the window not even open yet and will then stay open until the end of August. Leicester can stand their ground at the moment and who can blame them? Could be a different story later in the window though if the player, his agent or his Dad starting making noises about the Premier League. Suddenly we'd have the bargaining power. Or by that time another keeper maybe...
That's the crux. Leicester might not be overjoyed at our offer, but if we look elsewhere and they end up holding on to the player how much less will he be worth in January? Especially if their promotion bid is floundering. In that scenario they will be desperate to get anything for him and turning us down will have been an expensive decision.
I keep coming back to Schwarzer as a great solution. To have a keeper of his ability and experience behind a potentially PL inexperienced back 4 will be invaluable. A big presence in every sense and he's seen about PL 500 games unfold infront of him and the information. Balls to Kasper......
Yes, I think we are now at the point when there is simply better value than Kasper Schmeichel. He's obviously not bothered about playing in the Premier League in any case otherwise he would have put a transfer request in, so you have to question his ambition. I'd go for McGregor now, surely at £1.8m he is by far the best pound for pound value.
