Player cuts short holidays to seal his move to Anfield for £7.7m
Iago Aspas is ready to tie up his long-awaited transfer to Liverpool FC after admitting ‘the Reds were the only choice for me’.

The Celta Vigo forward will finalise a £7.7million move to Anfield this week, despite reports linking the 25-year-old with Valencia.

He will become Liverpool’s second capture of the close season, with Manchester City defender Kolo Toure having already agreed to join on a free transfer next month.

Aspas, a left-footed player who can play anywhere across the front line, revealed that he had cut short a planned holiday in the Caribbean to seal his dream switch to Merseyside, but says it was an easy decision to make.

He said: “I was forced to cancel my holiday in the Caribbean, but the reason I did more than justifies why.

“Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world and although I had offers from Italy and Portugal and other countries I decided my future was in English football.”

He's been described as La ligas version of Benteke. **** club but great striker, Think the only player to score more combined assists and goals in last years la liga than aspas was Messi.

Iago Aspas viaja hoy a Liverpool para pasar reconocimiento médico mañana y firmar el contrato.

i just hope its not dependent on getting rid of the ****e first ie Shelvey,Carroll,Downing etc

What's the rumoured fee?

7.7mil it looks like. Also Luis Alberto at about 5 mil is on the cards it seems. He seems a crafty player and has good experience but feels similar to Suso and Teixeira. Now if all three came good that would be siiiiiiccccckkkkkkk.

Spoke to my mate. Luis Alberto looks a strong possibility. Robben is looking increasingly unlikely now, so sorry about all the cloak and dagger stuff. My mate and I agree. We need to sign a big name. Erikksen will probably re-sign for Ajax

Surprised Teixeira hasn't had a call up yet, looks a quality player <ok>.

Is that the French bloke?

ha. Reminds me of Marveaux. What a bullet dodged. We pulled out last minute after his medical showed he was crocked and the barcodes took him off our hands. Remember their fans claiming how they had pipped us and he had chosen them instead <laugh>. He's set the league alight ever since

It'll be a shame if we don't really push hard for him. He's alread signalled that he would consider England and mentioned us by name as a possibility. Of course if Borussia get him, then fair enough, but we should really go for it.

Ya, real good call on that one by us, but we had just signed the 20 million sensation that is Stewie D. <ok>

I think it's a straight decision between Henrikh and Eriksen, and I heard that Henrikh is the preferred option due to his better contribution/output.

Either one would be a serious addition to our attack.

Luis Alberto is another talent and I feel he is closer to the first team than Suso or Teixiera. A lot of people are raving about him and feel he would be a dead cert in any first team in La Liga (bar Real and Barca).
