Seems we're in line to bring some more Egyptian players on loan in the future. Read to the bottom of the article. http://www.kingfut.com/2013/06/06/ahmed-elmohamady-interview-egypt-must-back-bob-bradley/
Looks like if it is more a question of the compo he wants from Sunderland to match his wages here than whether he is going to sign or not. Let's hope we can get him for a song and if we stay up.pay him a premier league wage for the subsequent years. Go-on Elmo, but don't try and force the manager's hand by making it a pre-condition we sign more Egyptians. We will if they are good enough. At the moment, only you have proved you are - though I think most of us would like to see a fully fit Gedo have a shot at the premier league, and I personally think Fathi could potentially be a solid and versatile squad player too,
Kingfut has tweeted that CM Hossam Ghaly has had an offer from City. KingFut.com ‏@King_Fut 35m Ahly captain & ex-#THFC CM Hossam Ghaly claims to have offers from #HCAFC, Lierse & another club in England. Contract expires end of season. Just coming back from a cruciate inury. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/hossam-ghaly/profil/spieler_7448.html
Very strange considering he apparently has had problems with Bruce in the past. "Birmingham announced they would not be completing the deal after Ghaly objected to the training methods employed by manager Steve Bruce"
As I said on another thread, King fut are not giving this credibility, they are just reporting what he has said. Utter bollox in my opinion. Per Wikipedia "In July 2007, he (Ghaly) was set to move to Birmingham City for a fee of £3 million (subject to work permit approval). However, on August 3, Birmingham announced they would not be completing the deal after Ghaly objected to the training methods employed by manager Steve Bruce."
Latest from Egypt is Ahly vs Hull in the first week of September in the UK. Doesn't make sense imo to have it at that time though.. As for Ghaly, does seem strange that Bruce would want him after Birmingham, but Ghaly said these quotes about Hull today, and he clearly knows Bruce is the coach. Plus he is much more disciplined now, albeit at 31, he skippered Ahly to win the CL last year and is crucial with the NT.
That sounds like an awful signing to me. Thankfully, when players claim they have these offers themselves it's usually bollocks.
The thing is its been 6 years since then, enough time for Ghaly to have matured from an overpaid testosterone filled young male to a disciplined, seasoned man. Also enough time to for Brucey to change his training methods slightly. Besides he only objected to it because it was "too much running", which is a petty excuse and sounds more like he just didn't want to play for brumscum than anything. I can see this one having legs and I'm sure he'd fancy another crack in the spotlight before his career ends if given the offer, and I'd be happy if he does sign, he's a good player and he's free.
