Not directly from Suarez, and the Club is adamant he's not going anywhere. All the rags are now going onto the "Who will replace Suarez..." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/luis-suarez-replacement-liverpools-top-1924078 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfers-manchester-citys-tevez-1937033 Tevez is a horrifying possibility - Huge wages, no resale value. On the plus side, he looks like he might have goals in him, plays the right way and has huge energy on the pitch. Of the others, Villa is another big money possibility, but I'd worry his legs would go on our pitch since he's already 31 - three years and he'd be 34 and have no resale value either.
I'd take Tevez in a heartbeat if he was on reasonable wages. Unfortunately, that'll never happen. Infact, same applys with Villa.
I'd take Tevez, yeah he's 29 but he's on of those types that'll play for another 5 years at a high level. Just wonder what his wage demands would be.
i reckon he is on more than Gerrard is here, so he will at least want that matched, is he worth it? not for me,Gerrard earnt his wages, he hasn't for me, good player but rather someone younger with more determination, he is at the wrong end where he thinks he has made it and wont put as much effort in.
Given what his game is about, not sure he'll be able to keep that kind of energy level up for 5 years. I reckon wear and tear would mean 2 1/2 years at top level would be about all you'd get. Be lucky to get to 2 years without his mid-contract "I want to go to Boca" sulk kicking in.
With Suarez experience, I do not think buying Tevez is going to be a good proposition.Could give Liverpool problems.
He's a clever player, clever players last regardless of energy, look at Zola and Bergkamp, lacked pace towards the end but used brains to carry on, drop Tevez deep and you've got a brand new player. It's called the McAllister effect... I'll take your Heskey and raise you Dundee! Shower of sh*te!
All depends how ambitious Tevez is, I'm gutted we didn't sign him when we had the chance.. He joined City, became their captain and was by far the best player. The whole saga last season has definitely muddied the water with him, but on his day, in the right set up he's unplayable.
in 09 we were linked with Tevez and Eto'o. FFS how things changed. Et'o even said he loved Anfield and loved the atmosphere. He went to Inter, Tevez to City and the rest is history.
They were the days. Silva, Villa, Alves.. All these players we were linked with and actually stood a chance of signing
You can forget Tevez. Spoke to my mate at lunchtime. He texted Rodgers who's on holiday in Spain and Rodgers texted back saying it was "bollocks". Nothing else to report at this time
