One of the worst replies I have ever read, so well done! What is an Everton average? I think you are one of those people who forms an opinion (often ill-judged and without merit) and for whatever reason is unable to let any alternatives in. You also seem to be of the opinion that success is only winning trophies, or being a good manager is all about silverware. There is a whole world outside of the blinkered view of the top 4 or 5, Everton have consistently spent much less than most in the prem, yet have been generally the only team looking like breaking the top 5 stranglehold for years now.

If you are a club that averages 7th then finishing an average of 8th is below expectations, even a 5 year old can work that out.

Previous managers average 14th, Moyes average 7-8th position. If anything then he is Sir above average, So you are talking absolute ballcocks! Everton were on a massive slide before Moyes came in flirting with relegation. Within a couple of years they were in the champs league!!!!!!!! All this at a time when money is king, and Everton have none. When the traditional top four, has now become a top six. Historically Everton were probably on a much even financial footing, right now and during Moyes time they have possibly never been so far behind in that regard.
Have you ever heard of a word called CONTEXT? Its what intelligent people are able to use to look past black and white and look at the various shades of grey that also exist. Using this word you are able to take in to account circumstances, resources, mittigating factors, environment, and see the bigger picture; admittedly this takes a few brain cells, so I understand why you are struggling with this. His mangerial tenure coincides with a period in history that has seen possibly the BEST ever manager in Fergie, the one lauded as the future best in Mourinho, 2 teams throwing truck loads of cash around, and that is just a tiny fragment.

Are you simply regurgitating what you read in the papers, cos if you believe that, you're an idiot. The REALITY is he guided Madrid to the league title winning record points and deposing the best team of all time in the process. Sure, he didn't win the champs league, but getting to 3 consecutive semis, and an overall win rate of 71.9%, is a better average than say, Fergie over his 26 years in charge, and indeed better than his previous stint at Chelsea. Mourinho is proven at the top of the table, Moyes isn't - THAT is 'reality'.

Look I like Mourinho and dislike Madrid but anyone who is capable of breathing knows he failed at Madrid.
