You lot are just deluding yourselves thinking you could get Kasper on the cheap

1.25M and 1.75M. But them bids together and we would still tell you where to go. You have it in you head because of FFP we need to sell everyone on the cheap. All it means is we need to clear the deadwood and we cant keep spending big.

As i have said Kasper wont sign for Hull. Mark that as a fact

You couldnt afford Stockdale for 4M

So how can you afford Schmeichel for 4M?
It's not what we can't afford, it's what we're actually willing to pay. Stockdale isn't worth £4million, so we won't pay that. We spent stupidly on players in our last Premier League stint, do you think the Allams would allow us to go down the same route? <doh>

If they bid £4M I can see him leaving.

Will they offer that much is another thing.

Doesn't matter how much he is worth to you, it is how much he is worth to us that matters.

If Bruce really wants him then that's how much you'll have to pay - as we said before, we don't need nor want to sell and Kasper hasn't put in a transfer notice so we hold all the cards.

Will be interesting if that value is agreed between the clubs - will the Allams override Bruce and say no?

I know, I was just responding to Proud_Fox moronic claim that we can't afford £4million. The only reason we aren't paying £4million for David Stockdale is because he's simply not worth that amount. Kasper Schmeichel IMO is worth between £2-£3million, but as you say, his value will rise because of Leicester's position; not needing or wanting to sell.

I think Bruce is hoping that these bids make Kasper state a desire to leave and bring the price down a bit in all honesty.

To be fair this time last week Proud was telling us Schmeichel was definately not leaving for less than 5mil!!!!!!!!

Why am I being reminded of sellers on Phil Spencer Secret agent when it comes to Leicester fans, the ones who don't listen to Phil or the Estate Agents and say their old house is worth more than a new build (you can find the episode on 4OD) and get no bids on said house. A PLAYER WHO WANTS TO LEAVE IS ONLY WORTH AS MUCH AS THE BUYING CLUB IS WILLING TO PAY FOR HIM - and if you fans and your owners want to play the game of valuing highly players with 1 year left on their contracts, pay them for the next year at however much wages for the next year and see them walk away on a free then that is excellent business sense. Whereas Hull remind me of the buyers on Location Location Location with Phil phoning up the estate agent saying something along the lines of "we've had a good talk about the valuation you are asking and we can't see it being worth more than £x" and normally the buyers get the house for less than the seller wants.

Interesting to read posts from so many Lesster fans who know the exact thinking/prices of players etc of their owners. I wish we knew so much about our club.

Have to agree with OLM (doesnt happen too often).
Schwarzer on a free with bags of Prem experience is a no brainer to me.
Perhaps Alex is missing Kasper on his bouncy castle - who knows.
FFP is still a worry to me, and obviously our owners have legal people looking for loopholes. From what I can gather there is a caveat, that speaks of the spirit of the regulation - which could be a get out for the Foorball League to close loopholes.
Dont think too much business will be done in bringing players in, or selling players who would be first team choice until the owners have a clear sight of the financial way forward. Our 'deadwood' are our priority to shift, and wouldnt be surprised to see players released from their contracts with negotiated payoffs.
If FFP does restrict our movement in the transfer market, then I wouldnt be surprised to see someone like Kasper leave to cover those payoffs.

If only <ok>

Hey, here's one for you.... I am definitely not Megan Fox, but I can confirm that she would not shag you in a million years <laugh>

How do you know Ms fox wouldn't - Look at the beauties going out with mingers in every town/city. He may just be what she's looking for in a man.

Since you believe typing in caps makes your points more valid - A PLAYER THAT HASN'T PUT IN A TRANSFER REQUEST AND DOESN'T WANT TO LEAVE IS WORTH AS MUCH THE SELLING CLUB IS WILLING TO SELL HIM AT.

To use your pointless analogy I live in a nice semi-detached house. If someone wants to buy it, they will have to pay me much more then it is worth as I don't want to move but will if some daft bugger is offering me stupid money - you have to offer stupid money to get Kasper.

That he is on the last year of his contract is irrelevant - we'll happily risk letting him leave on a free for the potential that he could help us get promoted next year.

Not much of a fan are you if you don't know anything about your club.

Good point, I'm sure Brucey doesn't like the Premier League and would much rather try and move to the Championship.

And that's for the advice on Kasper, but I think we'll do whatever we fancy, you can always reject whatever we offer.

That's what happens in football, as you repeatedly told me when you were bidding for Stewart.

Aha ... what you might not know is that Steve Bruce's dad, Robert D Bruce, used to share an interest in pigeon racing with Dave Whelan many years ago. The families got very close during that time and a young Steve used to hero worship Dave's teenage hippie son, Free Whelan. Oh what fun they had, but at the time it smelt so bad (mainly down to accumulated pigeon guano). Free's now back in the UK again after many years working in South Africa as part of an international project to create a hybrid racing pigeon with Ostrich DNA - appears Steve is also hooked on the racing pigeon hobby and the prospect of working for his old mentor whilst at the same time rekindling ties with his childhood friend may be just be too eggciting to resist.
