It wouldn't want players that don't fancy being at the club TBH..so if he doesn't really feel like signing for us then its not worth the hassle.

BTW Its pretty quiet for you guys ATM..any potential signings.

Only the old Paper talk. We've signed Boyd on a 2 year deal (pre-mutual agreement made back with the loan), we've made two bids for Kasper Schmeichel (1 failed, another ongoing), Maynor Figueroa is apparently close to signing on an FAT, we're after Rhodes, Austin and various other typical striking targets.

i have it on good authority that Vydra wants to stay at Watford. It's his Agent trying it on..taking it with a pinch of salt atm...until i hear he's been swayed.

    Troy has gone to twitter;

@T_Deeney: We're (sic) is everybody getting this info that vydra is off fill me please

Not sure if he is simply questioning where the rumour is coming from, or pretty much denying any truth in it.

Of course the agent will try and get the best deal for his client but if Matty is happy at watford, then why not give us another season to see if he can make it to the prem with us. He's still young so what's another season...?

Its up to the Pozzos anyway - if he wants to kick up a fuss and become known as a rebel so early in his career then so be it - will harm future progress.

These agents are trouble though - I fear Vydra's won't be the only one looking for a better deal.

I noticed last week Gareth Bale's agent was tapping him up for a move to Madrid even though the player seem happy enough at Spurs.

    GT hated them I remember.

The problem with agents is they're all striving for what's best for the agent, not necessarily what's best for the player or the club!

All of this talk about Vydra reminds me of Barry Endean, who had one glorious season with Watford, yet despite moving on never reproduced the same form again wherever he went.

Vydra might move for a lot of money, but he is looking at playing in a higher league and who is to say that he has proved himself yet. One season doesn't prove anything in my book.

I think there may be something in this. He clearly has a confidence issue and if he goes to the prem may well not make it. He might go to, and do better a European club though....

It's ok, they're probably just worried they'll lose all their best players... Schmeichel to Hull for a couple of million and Knockaert to France's olympic diving team!

Vydra was always the one name I was worried who wouldn't come back - but if he doesn't, there a plenty of others who will take his place! This is mainly just Agent talk and I think I'd believe the owner of the player's contract/registration than an agent trying to boost his bank balance! Other than a bit of agent talk, there are no real reasons to suggest he doesn't want to play here next season!

Udinese fans seem very sure that Mathias Ranégie will be heading this way. If he can find the scoring form he had in Sweden then we should a decent striker on our hands.

Generally on the forums I've seen or been on they sort of end up understanding the full situation and think ok fair enough even if they still don't agree with what we do but they just seem very bitter and actually its quite sad.

Its actually an example of how tribal the game can be and why non football fans see us as idiots without much of a brain and are treated as such.

For instance that Steve talks about "vile clubs" and hoping we "crash and burn" which in reality is very petty considering its nothing more than banter in a real world where there are major issues around that affect us all.

I have been on that site before and generally they seem decent enough so I'd put it down to a very large chip on their shoulder and unlike for example Palace fans they haven't got over some fans being WUMs on their site.

Said at the time its best to just ignore them...
