i dunno, a 6 foot emperor penguin could just fall on you and suffocate you! i seriously cant think of many things we could beat if they where the same size!
Just to add. Not many insects/bugs give me the creeps, but......giant centipedes really do, and are genuinely dangerous! There's one that eats bats in caves in Venezuela, just doesn't seem right, and I've studied some ecology. Now, a 6ft centipede would definitely make me run for the hills......although I probably wouldn't get far.
Nah, soz. I'm not particularly hard or anything but if you gave me four pints of John Smith's and told me that said penguin had touched my girlfriend's arse, I would knock his ****ing twatty little beak off.
You've heard of cats eating birds, you've heard of birds eating fish, but have you heard of CATFISH EATING BIRDS?!
Yep and that's why they are my favourite . They also fascinate me , always have . One thing I want to do in the next 2 or3 years is go somewhere probably northern Canada , and watch them from one of those big bus things .
Stay on the bus. Remember that bloke who got himself and his girlfriend killed by camping near them. Thought he was an expert on polar bears. their deaths were recorded on tape...horrible way to go.
Don't mess with Polar Bears , they have no fear of Humans , and as such view us as a natural food source ! There is a clip somewhere of a bloke swimming with his " PET " Polar bear .........
You can go to Svalbard to see them, but they won't let you out of the main towns without a gun. I'd quite like to try it.
A while ago I listened to a guy do a talk about when he and another guy sailed across the Northwest Passage, in an attempt to complete Franklin's expedition, in a tiny carbon fibre thing crammed with food, a tent and a couple of guns. Pretty amazing stuff. They did spot and photo some polar bears, and a few did sniff around their tent occasionally. Only once did they have to shoot, and it was with a spreading non-lethal round. Other crazy stories include mooring their boat and putting up a tent on a patch of ice, then waking up a few hours later and finding that the sea had frozen and they couldn't move.
