Peterborough United FC:
They've shipped 155 league goals in the last 2 seasons. I think it's safe to say they're going to struggle.![]()
But haven't they scored nearly 130 this season?

if we cant have cms..id settle for that boyd.
I've been disappointed with CMS in this game, he's made far too many mistakes for my liking, you can get away with them in League One(see Aaron Mclean), but not above this level. I reckon the Posh will finish bottom next season.
Danny Ward, Hudders winger worth an offer now they're not going up?
OLM,
thought you were harsh on CMS, he forces defenders into making errors, he's quick & a handful and his goal tally speaks for itself, I reckon he'd be fine in the npc, but rumour has it Norwich are after him & the PL could be a bridge too far..
Just been reading some stuff on a Huddersfield forum. Kilbane one of those getting the most stick with some shocking recent performances and desperate he doesn't go back. Not sure where that leaves him and us to be honest.
Well, it leaves Kilbane with us for another year thanks to a really smart move where he agreed to halve his wages in return of extending his contract by another year.
That's the second time you've posted that and it's still rubbish.
Kilbane's tax saving by spreading his wages over two seasons was tiny in the grand scheme of things, if he'd have taken it all when it was originally due, then he would have paid an extra 10% tax on just over £100k of his total earnings. He's far worse off than he would have been, as he would now have paid slightly more tax, but would now have had all £1.35m and would be free to do any new deal he wanted. He deserves credit for what he did, he did it for us, not for himself, he would definitely be personally better off had he not changed his deal.
Edit - Just in the name of accuracy, I've worked out the exact details:
£26k p/w for one year gives a post tax income of £687,113.52 for the year.
£13k p/w for two years gives a post tax income of £713,706.96 for the two years.
The tax saving by spreading the term over two years was therefore a total of £26,593.44.
He could have easily earned ten times that amount next season, so I estimate it's cost him at least £200-300k(pre tax).
Christ his accountancy skills must be worse that his passing skills.![]()
I started being an accountant when I was 20 but got finished when I was 29 for no apparent reason. What a waste of 14 years that was.
I'm now his press officer.
Back to Huddersfield, there's the makings of a competition here. http://downatthemac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=57904
How do you fold a tee-shirt so that it becomes a dangerous missile?

I wasn't referring to the money side of the contract 'scoot' but to the fact that he has extended his career by a year. That was a smart move. If he had let his contract ride he would now be out of contract and out of work. He can now 'grass it out' in the hope that someone might need him on loan somewhere. I congratulate you on your accountancy skills which are to be commended but (referring to your He could have easily earned ten times that amount next season) I doubt that Kevin would command 5,000 quid per week from anyone else at this stage in his career.
