I think it's his fault as he's responsible as lead writer (along with a couple of executive producers) to make sure it's all up to the same standard. His scriptwriting itself isn't a problem, just, everything else is.

The Russian sub episode was quite good. That's probably the stand out one of the series thus far. Or the second half of the series or whatever (i.e. since Clara became companion).

I thought that was crap, except for having the guy who plays Davos Seaworth in it.

    No, Sweetville was crap.

Even if it did make me think it was based on Bournville.

It was good, but it was one of the weaker eps.

I can onyl name the singing episode as "Awful" from this previous series, I thought it was great as a whole.

Out of interest, have you watched all the previous series?

I've seen them all from 2005, but I meant from the series just gone. More dud episodes in the RTD era than the Moffat era IMO.

Personal taste I guess. I still enjoy watching the old RTD series far more, just not the RTD episodes themselves.

Thoroughly enjoy the RTD era myself in the mainstream anyway, not a fan of Tennant's Doctor, love Eccleston but Moffat/Smith will always be my favourite combination I think ... just brilliant.

Perhaps more dud episodes, but definitely more great episodes too. Blink, Turn Left, etc

I'm still quite upset Eccleston isn't coming back for the 50th anniversary... but also very excited about John Hurt because he's just amazing. Can't wait to see what he does.

Haha, if I didn't watch it as a kid (I say kid... I think I would have been 12 or 13) then I'd definitely not watch it now.

    Not sure about that myself.

Same, the fact he was considering it, despite his views of Dr Who, and for him to pull out at the last minute ... would have been great.

Not sure how John Hurt will fit into the show, can't wait to find out.

I watched a few episodes in the Tennant era but got bored pretty fast. It never really hooked me.

I can certainly see why people don't like it. That's fine, each to their own!

I honestly cannot think of any really good episodes in the Moffat era. There have been plenty of that have been alright, or even good but nothing great. Unless I'm completely missing an obvious episode or four.

Oh and they've updated the forum. Have to do a lot of scrolling now to get to PL's homeland.

I can think of at least 10 in the Moffat era, compared to 7/8 in the RTD era. Just personal preference I guess.
