This is probably the start of one which will be quite drawn out. Unlike the Tottenham riots there are a lot of people with a genuine cause and they're not just going to get bored and go home. Erdogan's government has been trying to push the country towards an Islamist state, but most people in the country are sectarian and pro-European and they won't stand for it. This particular uprising will probably be dispersed when all the people who are just rioting for the sake of rioting get bored, and the police have done a pretty effective job with all their tear gas, but I'll be very surprised if there aren't more protests in the near future, similar to how the Egypt revolution started. Also if the military join the cause, which they've done before against right-wing governments, then it's going to get really serious.

That happened in a friendly between Denmark and Iran in 2003. The Danes missed the penalty on purpose.

Facebook and Twitter have been banned in Turkey, presumably because the government fears they'll organise an uprising via social media like the Egyptians did.

Assad took the internet away from his people too, and that worked out well for him didn't it.

Oh for governments to remember that they are there to serve the people, not the other way round. <doh>

Yes that penalty by Bristol Academy was very unsporting. The long range goal was a nice goal.

Who's following the final day of La Liga? Valencia and Sociedad can both get 4th. Deportivo, Celta, Zaragoza and Mallorca are in the relegation battle.

    4. Valencia - 65
    ---------------
    5. Real Sociedad - 63

    17. Deportivo la Coruna - 35
    -----------------------
    18. Celta Vigo - 34
    19. Real Zaragoza - 34
    20. Mallorca - 33

The one to watch is probably Deportivo v Sociedad so I'll be on that. The others:

    Sevilla v Valencia
    Celta v Espanyol
    Mallorca v Valladolid
    Zaragoza v At. Madrid

Well this game is lively. Depor pressing like mad. Leaving a lot of room at the back, and their defenders aren't great as it is. They seem to be without Marchena today.

Is the image thing that appears next to threads showing if you've posted in the thread or not and if there's new posts not appearing for anyone else?

Anyone else see 'Attraction' on Britain's Got Talent?

They're brilliant and the kind of performance that should be given at the Royal Variety.
