Graham Norton Show is decent. Won't beat last week though.

I'm afraid I can't watch the Graham Norton show. He fawns over his guests too much and humiliates the audience volunteers too much. If he reigned both back in he'd be fine. He's been on QI once and was very good indeed, so the host luvvy stuff and taking the mickey is entirely an act. An act I can't watch, even if some of the audience possibly deserve it.

Hmm, just seen an offer of a Galaxy SII with 300mins phone, 5000 texts [I hardly text, so they could cut that down to about 50 a month, frankly] and 3Gbs of data for £19 per month, on the 3 network [not my fav but I won't sign upto O2 anymore - Murdoch/SKY again]. Phone costs £60 but I get a £40 cashback. Oh the SII is white. You can't get a decent deal with my requirements on a black one anymore. Too old hat..!

I'm not going to bed any time soon because **** has truly hit the fan in Turkey and the government is about to collapse.

http://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/1ffo2c/the_islamist_government_of_turkey_is_about_to/

From what I understand, there have been massive protests and the police have attacked protesters. Tear gas has been dropped from helicopters.

In Istanbul, 400 wounded, 5 critical, 4 dead, 3 lost eyes. Police have been firing plastic ammo.

In Ankara, thousands are marching towards Parliament.

Similar scenes all over the country.

Turkish media has been totally censored.

Some protesters may have captured a riot control vehicle. I'd like to see that.

Detainees at Beyoglu police department being "subjected to severe violence".

And this boys and girls is how mis-handling a peaceful protest over the building of a shopping mall can **** up your entire country!

I don't really know my Turkish history, but apparently the military has previously stepped in to overthrow a government it didn't like on two separate occasions, and it could realistically happen again. The current government is pretty right-wing and they're generally not a fan of that.

Suarez has complained that he was treated badly by Liverpool coaches and players. This man has no self knowledge. The correct thing to do after the biting incident was to sack him....only his value as a commodity prevented that.

The EDL are marching in Southampton tomorrow... just a heads up.

Why didn't the City Council ban them? The police can refuse to allow a public event to go ahead on a variety of grounds - risk to the public for starters - surely this is the same, as it constitutes a risk to public safety as the ANL are bound to turn up as well? Poor decision making at the top!!

Did anyone watch last night's tribute to the great Otis Redding ("Sitting on the dock of the Bay" being his most famous song)? For those who don't know, he was a black singer from Memphis, a part of the US that still held on to the concept of the separation of the races in the 60s. When he went in to the studio to record his material, everyone was colour blind as black and white guys were seen clearly enjoying making fantastic, raucous music. In fact, it was a Stax tour of the UK and Europe, that helped artists like Otis Redding make the breakthorugh in mainstream America.

And that most-famous song was never finished owing to his death; the whistling was filler to be replaced by lyrics later, but he was killed in a plane crash before he could do so.
