You're right, stumpy....and as a result of those practices we the public don't know the truth. Because of their track record of misinformation some of us are reluctant to believe anything we read in the papers. Trouble is, when they report something that's true we don't believe that either. As has been pointed out already, most of us think this story is at best exaggerated. Posters like Hilts on the Cardiff board are loving this speclation. They just hope against hope that Laudrup will walk. I don't really care about them. But my main concern is the effect on the mindset of players who may be considering coming here if they've read the same rubbish. Let's stay positive!
Hi KJ, howyadoin I think agents tracking prem clubs know whats bull or not. After all many agents play this game and fuel erroneous reports when it suits their own agendas so I'm sure they know which story's stink.
"They" say a lot dont they? Cant see him going anywhere soon either. Thing is, as much as I'd like to see ML stay with us for years, with the boards track record on hiring exellent managers I actually dont fear the inevitable. Personally, I think our next manager is already with us, Morten Wieghorst.
Screw the press they are as trustworthy as pig in a pie shop. Trust what comes from the horses mouth and nothing worth flapping over has been said yet so it's still all good . laudrup knew the financial set up and ambition of our club when he took the job and any promises made will be kept or they wouldn't have been made if they want to keep him here. He has power here with the lads he brought in and may yet bring, they came because they want to play for him more than for our club but he seems a decent sort if that can be said of any managers these days. Well he ain't no Brian clough type is he ? The board are probably cautious not to let to much control pass to the manager and after recent let downs and recoveries they will not be dictated to if it conflicts with the ethos of the way things are run here .
If he calls me that again there will be some of this....
The EP appear to be talking bollocks. Laudrup was was simply pointing out that we can't go much higher in the table unless we were going to spend a ludicrous amount of money that the club could never afford - that doesn't mean he's asking the club for £200m, hes no idiot.
the fact is Huw and the board are being pricks but they are messing with the wrong one with laudrup.....hope they can sort it out very soon or i dont blame laudrup walking away from a amateurish way to run a club.....wise up swans and fast..
That's one thing neither Huw nor any member of the board has ever been when it comes the Swans Dai. I'd have thought, with your ear being so close to the boardroom door and all, you would have know that. I'm confident Huw, the board and ML are all singing from the same sheet anyway, but if ML did decide to start shouting I'm sure Huw et al will shout just as loud. We wont be, pushed, pulled or bullied into making rash decisions that may have a detrimental effect on the future of our club, the Swans. Not that anyone is shouting, they're all on holidays so all is quiet. This is convenient for the press as their notepads must be currently empty so they may need to stretch this 'live one' a little more. This is simply a media exercise designed to generate a story at a time when there is no news report on.
stumpy ...huw has made some horrendous gaffs over the years with every manager, 3 walked out on the club and i dont want to see laudrup do that over the same arguments he has had with all the managers...money...there is no need now to be a skinflint. the money we have had selling players will cover most of what laudrup needs.....
The transfer window isnt even open! If we make an announcement now, it only alerts other teams who will gazzump us in the meantime...have we forgotten the Gylfi saga? I doubt the board has and will no doubt be keeping all cards very close to the chest.
And the club is in fantastic shape thanks to Huw not giving in to managers who have walked. In Huw we trust
what has this got to do with what laudrup is saying...He should know well before we finished the season what money he was going to get...In fact its because they have let him down that he has to make it public just so that if we struggle next season it will be because he has been let down on the clubs promises of significant money he will need to keep us in with a chance of remaining in the premiership......clubs are already getting their players and laudrup cant bid as he dont know what he is having...that is bad running of the club not good by any stretch of imagination
