Rooney, give over, he's a flat track bully at best... you watching the England Vs Ireland game, he's horrendous against "average" Prem and lower league players.
Tevez, doubt it, he's at the age now where he'd be looking to head back home in a year or two's time.
Perfect scenario would be signing a "Big name player" that's 24-25 and willing to stay a good 4-5 years!

I couldn't agree more - both would be bad news IMO - I can just see something ridiculous like that happening for some reason

Rooney is technically very poor and peaked a year ago. Given his current level of wages I wouldn't even want to take him on a free.

I wouldnt think of a direct replacement. Instead, look at our attack in the last 4 games when Suarez was banned and fix the weaknesses/make it stronger.

---------------Coutinho-------------
--------Downing------Henderson-----
---------------Sturridge-------------

Could become:

-----------Coutinho----------
------Tello-------Henderson---
-----------Sturridge----------

or

----------Erikson---------
-----Tello-------Coutinho-
---------Sturridge---------

With Papa and Strootman joining to.

I'd love it to be like this,

----------Erikson---------
--Sturridge------Coutinho-
-----------Suarez---------

Suarez and Sturridge are quite similar, neither are what you'd call a classic no9. They are both creative and very skillfull players who are not afraid to take on defenders. But Suarez lacks the pace to play in the wings, I think Sturridge would make an excellent inside forward. He's left footed so would be an in house upgrade on Downing.

He Can still be scoring alot of goals since Rodgers system doesn't really employ the classic wingers hugging the flanks, rather encourages the wingers to cut inside and pop in the box. As long as he doesn't sulk about it, He could be out very own Muller.
Playing down the flanks don't necessarily mean he'd be scoring less goals. Ronaldo and Muller are examples of players scoring a lot from the wings.

According to talksport on BBC gossip page (I know very reliable..) Erikson is on his way to Dortmund for £10mil. Now that would be an absoloute steal for them. If he is available for that price I'd hope we would try and make a move for him, and if he then turned us down for Dortmund who have Champ League you can't really complain but if we don't even make an offer then something's not right!

I'd still like a big strong DM to come in to add something that we are missing in the middle. I'm sure I read somewhere that Diame has a £3.5mil release clause in his contract. If that's the case he'd surely be worth a punt? Creatively with Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge and possibly this new guy, we seem to have the attach sorted so do need to concentrate on midfield and defence now.

Diame at 3.7 would be similar to Sissoko who was at 4-5 mil I think it was? Agree on that though. Still think our left side could use some enhancement.

Similar to Sissoko, but think Diame is a far better playing than Sissoko from what I've seen so far. Newcastle fans don't seem to impressed with him apart from his first couple of games where he scored a few.

Defence or attack down the left hand side?

I guess Johnson can always play LB and possibly it will be a chance for Robinson to make a claim for understudy to Enrique. Then have Kelly & Wisdom to play RB if Johnson were to move LB so think we're pretty covered there.

I meant our Sissoko! <laugh>

and yes Defense, J Robbo is going out on loan again, I really don't feel comfortable with just saying, ya he can do a job on the left. Just shows a lack of balance for me.

@GuillemBalague: I will let you know about another Liverpool signing tomorrow if I get it confirmed. And I am as excited about that one as I am of Aspas

When the **** did he become so itk??? Or has he always been like that?

Hope it makes up for seeing Sturridge posting pics of his foot in one of those boots and putting himself "in the hands of God". That's doesn't sound good.

I think Dortmund are interested in Kevin De bryne more than Eriksen. He's apparently had an excellent season in the Bundesliga, and he seems to be a more attractive option of the two for Dortmund.

“I have read the stories and Liverpool is definitely an option,” said Eriksen to Danish publication Sporten.

In his recent interview hhe'd consider joining us,

“It is also one of the clubs that is held in higher prestige than Amsterdam, as it’s a different league and of a different calibre. It sounds very exciting, but we will have to look at if there is actually something in it.

“I don’t know if there is anything concrete in the rumours, though I have talked to Daniel [Agger] about them.”

Guillem Balague has said that we're interested in Barca's Luis Alberto - talented youngster in the mould of Xabi/Iniesta

Never heard of him either <laugh> Well we wanted our scouts to step up to the mark and actually do some scouting - so can't complain in that regard. Will just have to wait and see. Right now though I take everything Guillem says with a pinch of salt, he's been wrong many a time, especially regarding signings for us.

Balauge is still hawking himself round due to doing reviata etc. we've got in one spaniard so I'm sure he's following the reina saga mostly.

Him suggesting he's got something to be confirmed would lead me to think it would be another spanish link rather than him knowing about my eriksen one.

I am not too pushed about this guy, i think RHC has the contact i want to hear from! where is the mad scientist anyway???
