Respect JM. Did ye know that with an unopened bottle of Malt (I'm a The Macallan man myself), the space between the top of the liquid and the top is called 'The Angel's Share? Slante

I disagree with that mate - it was as much Pulis's attitude as it was his inability to deliver against the expectation of 100 million. Although Hughes wouldn't be my choice I think his record at B'burn and Fulham were good enough to put Pulis in the shade and who's to say he wouldn't have equalled Mancini if he hadn't have been sacked? Either way, I am glad Pulis has gone and I give the new manger 100% until he does something to lose m respect.
As much as I disliked the football under Pulis mate I was confident he wouldn't take us down and yet with Hughes I'm now really worried!
Not the outcome I expected when Pulis went. I really hope Hughes does well, his past track record isn't great, but he's had some good spells. Time will tell. Not a positive appointment in my opinion, but as I say, hope he does well. Stoke are a good club and you guys know your football. You got a bad rep coz of how Pulis liked to play, you deserve better.
your never going to be a big club just like us and the rest of the also rans .....its all bout finishing in the top 10 and maybe winning one of the domestic cups and survival......to finish in the top 4 is a non starter...
Hi Guys - I have to correct the idea from several fans of other clubs that Leslie did a good job at Fulham. He did not. Ok we finished the season he was with us in 8th place, which is pretty good for us. BUT - we had been 7th and on the rise 2 years previously, got to the Europa league final and finished 12th in a 60 game season (with a 1st team squad of about 15 and a few who would never play any where near prem level). We started his season terribly were in relegation positions at Xmas and in danger until the spring. It was Danny Murphy and a group of senior players who insisted on going back to the Hodgson team and tactics that got us back up to 8th. We had actually wanted Maarten Jol, but Ajax made him an improved offer to stay for an extra year - so we got LMH. It was a relief that he went - just offensive in the way he went about it. He and his usual expensive hangers on Bowen, and Niedzewiski (pronounced needs a whisky) - are a dour bunch. They are usually known as "The Taffia" for very good reasons. I wonder what the relationship with your Technical Director (who I understand is well thought of) will be like - I think there will be in-fighting.
Mate, we lived the Hughes dream squad and got relegated. what we would have given for Pulis dross !!! Dross which took 6 points off during the season. By all means, I too would get behind the guy and give him a chance as I would any new manager. I am just so surprised your Board saw fit to employ the man. Nonetheless, good luck for next season.
Mark Hughes must be the CHEAPEST option , for the Stoke board to pick him , there can be no other reason.
good luck hughes is not all bad at ffc we did try and be a bit more expansive at first without getting the results, but the thing with hughes he is not as good as he thinks he is, he left thinking he was going to get a top 4 team, his agent even said it, then he pops up at rangers and did very well that he basically took them down, whether that's all his fault or his chairman thinking rangers would be a top 6 six club, I have a feeling he will do well at stoke, be ready for every interview when he will say (in fairness) GOOD LUCK
Didn't see that appointment. But it will be interesting to see who comes and goes from Stoke over the summer.
sparky has a good CV apart from QPR. his ego was clearly off the scale after leaving fulham and he expected to walk into a top job, but it never happened. its a good appointment for stoke.
Don't let any one tell you he did a good job at Fulham, at Christmas time under Hughes we were 3rd from bottom, by April we were 16th and still in trouble, it was only when senior players started coming back into the side that Hughes put a few wins together, and we got to 8th place. Another thing you have to watch and worry about Hughes is that he has an adviser called Kia Joorabchian who basically is not allowed by the FA to be a players agent but gets involved in a lot of Hughes transfer business, (if you remember the Tevez, Mascherano dealings and problems at West Ham, he was involved as being part owner of them) and had a lot to do with signings at QPR.
Commiserations chaps.I think those of you who wanted rid of Pulis will look back on 2012/13 as a solid season.Good luck..you are going to need it!
A solid season? Are you for real? We were the worst side in the prem scoring least goals, cresting least chances and having lowest average posession, how we stayed up is down to luck noything else
He only said that because his days of picking 20 grand a week up for playing **** are over and he will be gone now that pulis has gone
