If three at the back is done right (which is the tricky bit) then you can effectively switch between five and three at the back, depending on if you're playing attacking full-backs or defensive wingers it can be more solid defensively than four at the back. The way a lot of teams set up these days with both full-backs up field and a defensive mid dropping back, it is frequently effectively a three at the back when attacking anyway... Without Zaha they would be bottom half of the Championship. Which makes me wonder what the hell they are gonna do if they win this game.
What is Palace's financial situation like anyone? Trying to figure out how either of these sides would cut it in the PL.
Not too good, not too bad, I'd say. Not got lots of money to throw around, but usually invest fairly prudently. Do we reckon the Pozzo family would start throwing some real weight behind Watford if they go up?
If they can free themselves of the transfer embargo I'd think that Watford could put a nice squad together, but if they don't... they must have about 12 contracted players.
