Not sure I entirely agree. I think Tom's comment has credence, although it could've been presented better.

Back to football...

Huddlestone - No thanks
Austin - No thanks
Lukaku - We can dream
Townsend - No thanks

I admit I'm not the most subtle person in the world. What can I say, I like to get to the point. ;)

Boooom!!!

Well Said Saint Harry. Another reason I start new threads is because things get so dilluted on this particular thread. Someone posts a link we talk, someone posts another link, we talk and sometimes its really unclear who people are talking about as they don't quote or mention names, instead say "that would be a good signing" etc. This thread is decent - it merges everything into one continuous thread. Doesn't mean that you shouldn't and can't have a freash thread surely.

On topic:
Huddlestone
Austin
Lukaku (Loan)
Andros Townsend

The reason we have this implied rule that all transfer rumour-related talk goes on this thread is that it's got really nuts in the past when we've had a new thread for each one. You think it's all well and good you starting a new thread to say what you wanted to say, but what if everyone did that?

As for the players you mentioned, Huddlestone is really unpredictable and it seems most Spurs fans are getting pretty annoyed with him. He can be a good player, but I wouldn't want him because he often doesn't show up. Charlie Austin I just don't think is cut out for this level, and there has been some talk about him being a bit of an unsavoury character. Lukaku and Townsend would be good, but I reckon they'll both be playing in Europe next season.

Hence comments appearing that don't make sense to where the conversation is @, as you haven't scrolled to the end to see what people are talking about... <doh>

I make sure to check this thread daily, and therefore I only ever have to read the last couple of pages. There's a hell of a lot going on right now as we're entering "silly season", so if you don't stay on top of it I'm afraid there's not much more that can be done for your reading convenience. If it's difficult on an iPhone then might I suggest doing it on a PC? This site isn't really designed with mobile browsing in mind. I had the app on my HTC but it kept crashing.

Are we talking about the iphone/android apps? I never really used them but it might be worth trying to use your normal browser with the mobile layout instead.

For the record, I've been on here with my iPod and my phone several times and I've never had a problem navigating the site, no matter how big the thread.

If the thread is getting genuinely unmanageable on a phone I can kick Mk11 off and get a mod to lock this one???

Not really yet. It was a problem last year when it got to 100+ pages and the only way to get to the end was swipe repeatedly for 30 seconds or so (and if you missed by a pixel you'd be jettisoned back to the beginning!)

Might have to take Qwerty's advice and just have this thread open in the browser.

It will be interesting who gets Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. There could be a bidding war for him. I've seen that Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle, Swansea, Anzhi, PSG have all shown interest in him already. He'd be a great signing for whoever gets him.

On topic:

Andros Townsend

I was more interested in Andros Townsend before than I am now. He's just withdrawn from the under 21's squad due to betting offences. Depends on what comes from that. A stupid move to be betting as a professional player but it saves his face slightly that he wasn't betting on games that he was involved in and is still only 21. He is a good player though and I'd be interested if he sorted out the gambling but it's likely Spurs will want him next season anyway.

Lukaku would be good on a loan but surely Chelsea will want him in their squad next season.

Recent tweets from Alan Nixon on Cortese in Italy basically suggest that there is so far no news from Italy but he was optimistic of pulling off a 'biggie'.

Neymar joins Barcelona then, surprising nobody.

Good player, but like many other players from that part of the world. They can only play in the slower European leagues such as Italy and Spain. He would get smashed to bits in the Premier League. Would love to see him try some of his skills at Stoke away. Huth and Co would just destroy him.
