The rumors about Sharp are being to become quite strong now, what are everyones thoughts on him?

Personally I would love to see him and McCormack playing upfront together with Ross just sitting in that hole like Rooney used too.

I hope he is our 1st signing as this will really show the board are going to back the manager.

Can't wait for next season already!!!

Evening Jonny, I agree. An early signing of a recognisable name would set the scene nicely and encourage future targets that we have ambition.

I would definitely take Sharp, quality player and would do fantastic upfront especially alongside McCormack.

Last season we were rumoured to be bringing back Beckford and we signed Gray - I will sit up and take notice when/if it happens. I wonder if we can get anything for Morison

No we cant get anything for him. We gave Becchio away. Why did we sign Gray anyway? What a daft signing that was just like Hall, Habibou and dozens others

Needs to be 6 or 7. 5 good quality first teamers, and two squad players. We do not have any midfielders I would be happy starting with, apart from maybe Dawson, depending on how he matures over the Summer...

IMHO I don't think we NEED 7 signings but it would be nice. And I'm also happy to start with Austin in the middle, we'd need someone creative alongside him but he does a fine unnoticed job when he is on the pitch. He'll never get the praise but I'd have him in there over the rest of our midfield. And in respect to Dawson, he was too weak on the ball when I saw him play, showed desire to get the ball back but he needs to go out on loan to build some strength. Otherwise he seems a decent player

I would personally target to sign a CB, a CM or 2, a LM, a RM and a ST.

Morison will eventually do us a job I reckon but we perhaps shouldn't rely on him. He's only scored 2 less league goals than McCormack did in his first season at leeds in 17 less games and he got into double figures for norwich in his first season there and that was in the prem.

In fact, I was just checking his overall scoring record and he averages a goal in just over 2.2 games over his whole career. Billy Sharp averages a goal every 2.19 games and Morison has played over 100 games more than Sharp and played more games in the prem as well. Just food for thought

Have I missed something. Is sharp available on a free?

No, but he's for sale. Good player and I was disappointed when we loaned him out, but he's down the pecking order now as we switched to playing one up front. He'll go to you guys or Forest.

He's really keen to move back to the Sheffield/Donny area, his agent was chasing us to sign him back when Barmby was manager, it seems he(or his wife) is homesick.

You'd expect that Southampton would want most of their £1.8m back on him though.

Anyone in the Championship with a million quid will want want him. If not Forest, I reckon Adkins could sign him again.

Well he won't be worth 1.8m anyway, he was signed in january when prices are normally inflated and he was also in very very good form when he signed for saints. I would expect him to go for around 1m or maybe just over
