Indeed, in his 37 starts and 13 sub appearances in the PL with Swansea and City, he has scored 5 goal from open play. And of his 19 regular season Championship goals, 7 were penalties, and I'm pretty sure at least 2 (possibly all 3?) of his goals in the play-off final were penalties. The two Swansea fans I know slated his all-round play and said he had a bit of a playboy attitude about him (but they did really dislike him, so they were likely playing it up) and were absolutely chuffed to get as much money as they did for him. I wouldn't necessarily complain if we got him, but I'd have serious reservations about what he'd bring to the table.

I'd tend to agree with you Mikey - somehow it doesn't quite 'feel' right for Saints, although saying that, he's one of those players that I'd be very happy to be proved extremely wrong about. The environment and the way the team play down at SMS may very well suit him and he could flourish.....

390 minutes per goal and 5 assists last season compares favourably to, for example, Lallana's 743 minutes per goal and 6 assists this season. And he's still only 24, could yet develop into a very good player. If we can get him cheaply and not on silly wages he'd be worth a gamble.

Agree. I think anything lower 4 million would be a steal.

Of course, but you're comparing him to a player who has been heavily criticised for his poor goal-scoring record this season. :p And without Sinclair's penalties we'd be talking 780 vs 743, and since he wouldn't be taking penalties for us his penalty-scoring abilities are fairly irrelevant.

I agree with both you and LTL that he could yet flourish, any player in the right circumstances can blossom and improve drastically, and if we signed him I'd support him, but given the progress we've made and the progress we hope to make, I'd like us to be signing a different sort of player than him. If it was a true bargain, it wouldn't be bad business, but I just don't feel that both his fee and wages will be discounted enough to make it worth it.

Apart from anything he'd just add to our list of players, especially wide men, who can't cross a ball! <laugh>

Nixon also says...

"Gamez. Bid in. Not accepted yet. Think The Don of Dons is chasing something else right now"

Says Cortese is in Italy trying to sort out a transfer.

So that could be Astori, or Ogbonna, or Flamini, or Nainggolan, or Lamela... have I forgotten anyone?

Milan. Not one of their players, or even one of the teams...he's buying the entirety of Milan, which will now be a client city-state of SFC.
