We shall see. Still think he's a good player and top-quality. Poldi hasn't done too badly for his first season.
Higuaine is much much better finisher than Giroud. He's also played at the highest level since he was 18 years old. There's a reason he is often picked ahead of Aguero and Tevez for the Argentine National side. Still only 25 he would'nt be my first choice but he's CONSIDERABLY better than our current option.
I don't know. Giroud for me deserves to get 10 games at the start of next season. We have invested a season in him and it would be a waste not to see if it pays out. I agree that it could be a long shot, but I think we are committed now. I still think we can sign Higuain anyway and he can sub in slowly over the first half of the season. Ease him into it.
I think they should buy Higuian, Lewandowski, Jovetic & Villa & combine them with Giroud in a Captain Planet stylee.
Higuaine converts 33% of his chances compared to Girouds 12.5%. Whoever said he's wasteful needs a rethink at Real Madrid he has scored 1 goal for every 3 chances. (Giroud 1 in 8 chances) http://blog.squawka.com/2013/05/14/arsenal-agree-deal-with-striker-who-converts-32-of-his-chances-transfer-scouting-report-on-hitman-also-linked-with-spurs/201305149154?
You need to look at the quality of the teams he scores against. He's always rubbish when I watch him in the CL, and most of his goals come against the relegation threatened La Liga teams.
I'm never sure about this. People used to say the same thing about Henry and Ronaldo. It's natural strikers are going to score more against weaker defences. The thing about Higuaine that impresses me is that he has managed to score goals consistantly despite being in and out of the squad in a never settled constantly changing forward line. Most strikers need a run of games to reach their best. Who knows how good he could be given a decent run of games.
He played 30 mins of one Barca game, and played neither game against Athletico. He played 15 minutes of one of the real Sociadad games, and scored in both Valencia games. So it makes a good sound byte, but it is rubbish. He has a goal every 112 minutes in the league this year (and not only against the bottom 10 teams), which considering how much he has been subbed, is excellent. If he played 30 games in a season, with that proficiency, he would get 24/25 goals, which I think we would take.
It looks like Bayern may have signed Neymar! They already have a great team add Naymar and Gotze to that squad and they will be a real force under Pep.
Remy speculation all but over http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/premier-league-qpr-star-remy-arrested-rape-charge-105742635.html
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11685/8715070? A Marouane Chamakh update, and yes, he is still sadly an Arsenal player.
Sounds like Sagna is off then. A bit of a shame really, although he's lost a yard of pace, he's still one of the best RBs in Europe.
