    just on ince.

I'd have rated him higher than alex K (fulham and i never could spell his name), way higher than amoo but lower than sterling and on a par with silva... in the end LFC gave all theses guys a start and only one made it to the firsts, the rest are all on pro deals yeah? not eveyone can make it here, our mistake on occasions is nobody made it here or anywhere.

Fede Vico is ours according to twitterverse.

    18 year old, Cordoba

Never heard of him but a quick Internet search has in a couple of the old 50 Spanish starlets of the future type guff. €4.8- €7 mill depending on targets etc etc....

    Anyone have further info?

Edit: apparently been promised Assaidi's shirt number. Take it that means no more AssMan then?

  3. Reading that, I thought he would be a future prospect. However, your edit means he will have a prominent number.

He did well v Barca in the cup, there's probably a clip off his skills from that game.

From the Spanish second division to the no11 shirt at Liverpool? Kid better be special!

Realistic (ideal) team for next season?

    ---------------------------Reina-----------------------
    Johnson-----Alderweireld----------Agger--------Enrique
    ----------------------Lucas
    -----------Gerrard------------Inan-----------
    Suarez----------------Sturridge---------Coutinho

Bench: Jones, Kelly, Wisdom, Henderson, Sterling, Borini, Remy

Obviously Cou could float in that situation.

    More like this.

    ----------------------Reina-----------------------
    Johnson-------Williams--------Agger--------Enrique
    ----------------------Lucas
    -----------Gerrard------------Allen-----------
    Suarez----------------Sturridge---------Coutinho

Bench: Jones, Alderweield, Kelly, Henderson, Sterling, Borini, Remy

I wonder whether Coutinho's impact has changed Rodgers mind on signing Erikson.

I don't think we ever had a shout at Eriksen, think BVB have always had him.

I think if I could have an ideal world situation I'd bring in Benteke, Diame and Ben Arfa.

Completely forgot about Joe too <doh>

I can see Ben Arfa signing. Remy to.

    I expect 4, maybe 5 signings.

    2 CB's
    1 AM (versatile)
    1 ST

If we sign a 5th I expect a GK. Not to replace Reina though. Rodgers in a press conference said he wanted to make sure he had two quality players in every position and three goal keepers. A young keeper could be a good bet.

Looks more and more like Newcastle or West Ham would take Carroll from us... if it's Newcastle I could imagine some sort of deal for HBA.

Yeh I think 2 CBs, maybe another LB and then a versatile forward player.

Surprised we didn't go for Butland in January really.

Heard rumours about Wanyama I'd love to be true.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the squad next year could look quite healthy if we make smart decisions this summer. Suso, Wisdom, Sterling will all be a year older and hopefully improve further, Kelly will be back, Allen back... Get the defence sorted and one more attacker - could be a good year.

I can see LB and DM waiting until January or next summer. With a tight budget Rodgers will have to priorities.

  13. I've been saying we could need:

GK x 1 or 2 (subject to Reina leaving)
    LB x 1
CB x 1 to 3 (carragher is retiring, Coates will leave and possibly Skrtel too leaving just Agger)
    DM x 1
    AM x 1
    WG x 1
    CF x 1 - 2 (Suarez?)

But we are not going to sign eleven players no matter who or how many players leave!

However, let's assume the worse case scenario:

I can't see both Skrtel AND Reina being allowed to go after losing Jamie too, that's too much of a disturbance for one window. (10 players required)

Kelly and/or Wisdom can play at CB. (9 players)

Johnson has shown he can play LB. If Downing stays then BR thinks he can cover too. Plus, we have plenty of options at RB and Robinson to return so I think LB will be a low priority. (8 players)

The AM/WG could be combined to one player that can do both: Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge, Borini, etc all can and BR has said he likes players to be versatile. (7 players)

IMO, seven players is not unrealistic in these circumstances, especially if we get a decent sum for Reina, Skrtel and / or Suarez.

    I hope we don't sign 7+ players...
4 signings of Ford Cortina quality in these positions, CB, DM, Winger/AM and Striker will, I'm certain help push us up the table next year.
Thats based on the likes of Reina, Skrtel and Suarez staying.. If any of them leave then we'll need a bigger shopping trolley!

  15. Neither do I as I hope Reina and Suarez stay put (that makes it five signings). We need more than one CB IMO. I'm convinced that both Coates and Skrtel (ill...<laugh>) will be leaving this summer

As long as we are able to pick 2 quality players in each position, score goals, defend well and win matches consistently we will be good for next season.

Williams, Alderwerield, Ben Arfa and Remy, plus a fully fit and improved Allen, Borini, Kelly and Sterling could be all we need adding to get 4th. Based on our form and playing style since December. Strength in depth, more strength in defense, more squad versatility and more creativity and goal potential in attack.

We could always go for a DM or Winger in January if it looks needed.

Coutinho, Sturridge and Henderson's form in the team since January is really encouraging.

Edit: and a full season of Lucas. Remember Lucas was out for a long time and it messed up our midfield shape. Lucas makes the players around him play better.

My opening sentence makes it sund like we can start with 22 men.

    #1758
  19. Would certainly be easier but I suspect Man Utd would just pick three for each position <whistle>
