It's probably gonna be Malky, he has little reason to stay at Cardiff due to money issues and the fact the club is really a non-entity in the Premier League. Everton is a much bigger draw for him with a much bigger income and thus can offer a much bigger salary. Laudrup will unlikely be interviewed by Everton because of his £10 million release clause and the wages can demand with it.

Everton are a good old traditional club with a very loyal fan base but IMO i feel its as far as they can get until kenwright starts dipping his hands in his pockets. There is real ambition at Cardiff and i think Malky would of recognised this over the past 2yrs .where as everton over moyes 11yr tenure has made very slow gradual progress on limited funds. with that in mind the lure with of everton alone will not be enough for Malky. Cardiff are growing and growing and with the backing of the owners who want not only to establish the club in the premier but to be pushing for top 7..in fact we could be better placed than Everton in the next few years unless as i said Kenwright starts opening his purse strings and that seems unlikely.
Now laudrup on the other hand is already used to working with small clubs within spain and uk with very tight purse strings. he's used to having very minimal budget and ableing his teams to punch above their weight. Also Everton are a much bigger club than the one laudrup is currently at and that is why he is the perfect candidate for the job.
Its about progression and he would certainly be progressing from swansea to Everton.

Really? Why? Laudrup has come out in the last couple of hours saying he is not interested in the Everton job, Malckay is keeping quiet on the issue. I can't really see where you think I am wrong in anything that I wrote.

Malky is prob in Everton's top 3 and I would expect them to make an approach. As to who they want to make an offer to god only knows. With regard to Everton investing then I think the move of Moyes to Man U will have made their board realise that they are going to have to invest to avoid a possible slide.

Thererfore if Malky does meet them you can expect a hard sell and promises of cash to spend. So that coupled with the realism that they are a top 7 team may sway it. But as I said I havent a clue who they will go for :)

Well we had the same rumours when Dave Jones seemed to be doing well with our team...but it was the team that played the games and got the points.

Cardiff is unusual in as much as the manager has full control from the owners and their backing...now a premier league club I would imagine we would attract as much interest from other managers as Everton.

We could bring Harry in and give him an offshore account in his dogs name and see where we go from there.

JCK - if that happened then Arry would have to take Sandra for a Malaysian post match meal as opposed to his normal pizza an a glass of red - god does than man know how to treat a woman :)

IMHO if Everton offer MM the job he'll go.

The jacks have shown a decent recruitment process means managers are pretty expendable. Obviously it could be a massive negative if he leaves but the right man to replace could in fact take the club forward. We're in a lot better state than when we sacked Jones and we didn't have any players......!

Talksport lunchtime said Malky is Everton's preferred choice and then started talking to a Scots player about Lennon getting the job. <doh>

However, Everton are a bigger club than us and I said a couple of weeks ago that if a club around their level (Prem top 7, 6th at present) came calling then Malky would have to consider it. We need to accept that he will be a target for top 7 clubs if he continues success with us.

Point taken about their lack of spending power but won't they have a pay off from Man U for Moyes? And we would certainly want a good sum for Malky.

The problem with spending power is that Man U look set to snaffle Fellaini and maybe Baines. They're talking about £40m for those two plus whatever normal spending they would have. Of course that would weaken the team but he could get 4 or 5 quality players if he used the scouts well - maybe a player or two in part exchange...

I always think that a manger should look at reputation - he will have been a manager that took a team up, rather than a manager who took a team up and kept them up and really built something. I always feel that O'Neill's lasting reputation (only now starting to take a dent) was because he did the job Rodgers did and took it on to do what Laurdrup achieved too.

If Everton want Malky they obviously rate him better than any other manager in the premier league.

So funny, Malky will turn it down.

I'll let you know in person as I shout it out of the airport bus window on my way to Rome for the Swans match next season. Hughes would be interested in taking over your team after Malky goes for the bigger job, be happy with what you get, he isn't all that bad when there is no money involved.
