Yeah Martinez is the obvious choice and I can see him taking it. Doesn't want to fight relegation for ever.

O'Neill and Hughes are clowns these days, both way below Everton's level.

I've heard that he's going to Wolves. No idea if that's true or not, but it might be an interesting move for him. One step back to try and take two forward.

Wolves will piss all over League 1 next season with Jackett there (or someone that knows the division). My housemate has indirect family links to Jackett and he was apparently really friendly with Morgan (the owner) and virtually asslicking them saying what a great club they were etc.

I'd put money on them doing back to back promotions if he's there.

Just checked and it appears that Jackett's odds on for the Wolves job, so there's no money to be made there.

5/1 hours after he was sacked. Knew I should have made my move.

Just kooked at the goon's board, they are not happy we drew with Chelsea,if we beat Stoke, who are now safe,so have nothing to play for,the pressure will be on them, and they don't like pressure!

Any club who hire Hughes would have to be insane. His football is unbelievably negative, his win % is hilarious, and his style is outdated.

Agreed. I just don't rate him as a manager. Apart from anything else, he appears to have a divisive and confrontational nature.

I don't rate him but he's in the frame. He was quite good at City because he had good players with him so he might be better at Everton. Martinez is as you said Spain also a strong possibility.

I don't know why but I've always considered Hughes as a northern team manager and not a southern, like Harry is a southern man and not a northern. There was talk of him going to Middlesborough, what a disaster that would have been. Hughes,Martinez or O'Neill for Everton.

If it were my choice, I'd go for Laudrup. He seems settled at Swansea, though.

How on earth is he in the frame?! That's the question!

O'neill is another who's football is outdated IMO.

These young tacticians such as AVB, Laudrup and Rogers are going to gradually change our league's football.

Some of the "older style" managers have already been left behind, and we've seen evidence this season of it beginning to show in others. - Pulis this season for example.

Surely Everton can't afford the contract compensation, can they?!

Not sure what's involved there, Roo. But, Laudrup would have to want to make the move. If I were Everton, he's the one I would try for. I just have a feeling that he's shaping up to be as great a manager as he was a player.

The next round of games will decide it. Although anything but a Spurs win against Stoke pretty much secures CL football for both Chelsea and Arsenal. That said Chelsea can effectively wrap up 4th with a win against Villa and it would lead us only needing a point at home to Everton providing no massive swing in goal difference.

Playing first will be am advantage for Spurs if they win but if they leave the Britannia with anything less than 3 points it's all over.

Personally I hope all 3 of Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs win so it goes to the last day for all 3 spots. It's looking likely relegation will be sorted by the time Arsenal play Wigan so needs something to keep the excitement ticking.
