Hey guys, just want to get everyones honest views on our player Danny Rose who i'm hearing has had an excellent season with you. Our left back Ekkoto has had a pretty poor season and a lot of us Spurs fans are potentiallly looking at Danny Rose being our 1st choice left back next season. AVB has also come out and said he won't be selling Rose and feels he will be important to us next season. My question is, is he really that good? what's his strengths and negatives etc? Thanks guys

my understanding is that there is a clause in which we can sign him permanently and i hope we do (being mooted £8m) and would be worth every penny, he's class, future england lb imho

What Steve said, lad is appaling, not even close to Spurs standard, can't run, no bottle, lacks pace.....

In all seriousness though, he will be England's first choice LB within a year, he has been superb, brave as a lion, tough, strong, quick, excellent going forward and great feet, he has improved beyond recognition with games kinto a fantastic footballer.

I hope and pray that the rumours of a pre-arranged fee, even if it is £8million, are true, cos I'd actually be close to tears to lose the lad.

Believe me mate, I am not exaggerating one bit.

Imagine him and Bale in the same team.
As has been said, he's a fantastic player, between him and our keeper for player of the season for me.

I don't believe there is a clause boys because it's certainly something Levy wouldn't usually do and AVB has come out andd said Rose will play an important part next season so i'm thinking he will be 1st choice at spurs next season..

Somewhere there has to be better value than DR at £8million. I too am a big fan and would like to see him at SAFC permanently but believe there is so much strengthening to be done in the summer that that price would be too big a slice of our transfer kitty.

Thought Spurs signed a 21 year old LB from Madrid last summer.

Levy and AVB just pumping the price up. Having said that if the worst occurred and we were relegated, btw I dont expect it, would Rose still want to stay?
I get the impression recently he seems to have back tracked a little on committing to us.

Danny rose has been very, very good. His pace gets him out of trouble. He is good in the tackle. Going forward he can pick a pass. He's not afraid to run at a man. He's positional sense may need to improve but that comes with experience. Is he as good as cole or Baines? No would have to be my honest answer. He will only get better though. I'm sure he will only stay at spurs with some kind of first team assurances? The lad has said he wants first team football. Big decision for him. If spurs sell I can see others being interested.

Definitely got this impression in a couple of recent interviews with him, although it seemed he was resigned to the fact that he'd be going back, rather than wanting to go.

Rose has already publicly stated he doesn't want to play for you. He's northern lad, he likes being close to home, he said he loves how he' been shown faith by sunderland and has taken to the fans and visa-versa. Apparently we've been quoted 8mil, if true doesn't matter what AVB thinks, Levy has him in the shop window.

I don't think he was happy with you lot for sending him out on loan instead of showing him faith. He clearly has faith in his own ability as do we. Just Spurs who had no faith and low and behold he's had a way better season than Ekkoto.

Whether he's playing for us next season of not I don't know but if I had to put my money somewhere I'd bet that he won't be playing for you.

He is **** you don't want him!!!!

He is a northern lad for once I hope us being in the North East and not London will mean he wants to come here. He will not be guaranteed being first choice at Spurs where as he would be with us.

Same story as Bent really, he could go back to Spurs and be in the squad rotation and earn a lot of money or come here and become a legend.

Danny Rose will be better than Ashley Cole if playing for a top 4 club. By far our best outfield player this season. I just think he loves football and will do anything to play the game. Give him 3 games and he'll never be dropped for you again. As much as I'd love to keep him I really think that if your full back is your best player he's doing one of two things and I hate to say this but he has. 1, he been playing in a very very average side (regardless of my love for this club). 2, shouldn't be playing for the club he's at because he's too good.

I know I'm leaving myself open to be shot at but I'm only being honest about Danny. The boy is pure quality...!!!

Thank you for loaning him because he has been massive for us this season. Good luck in your hunt for the top four.
