He was denied a goalscoring opportunity by his own clumsiness. Throwing yourself down in the penalty box does not mean you get a penalty.
Elbowing somebody in the face, however... that's a straight red.
Well as per law 12 using excessive force or endangering another player is a red card offence, what did he think was going to happen? They would come off smelling of roses, not make me laugh.
As for the other incidents, the elbow was an accident as a result of Morrison pushing Ekstrand in the first place

The incident in the first half was as stone-wall a penalty as you could ever see. You can see the contact from behind, therefore a pen and denying Hogg a 1on1 with Kenny.

And the Red card was slightly harsh, the only contact was when Brown kicked Deeneys arm. Deeney did not connect with Brown.

Is that what you class as contact from behind? He fell over in the box, you're just blind, bitter, and blinkered.
How is a push that he could not have known was going to cause the collision "using excessive force" but elbowing someone in the face "an accident"? Can you seriously not see your hypocrisy? He probably thought nothing would happen of it.
And Deeney's red was not harsh. I watched the replay, he clipped Brown's ankle as he went through, and it was so clear he had no intention of getting the ball. Dirty challenge.

Spin it any way you want, pushing a player in the way Poleon did is not a red card offence. Raising your arm to another players face is a red card offence. Keep in mind that the ref clearly booked Poleon purely on the fact that Bond was injured, rather than believing his pretty standard, non-malicious action was not an offence worthy of a booking, yet failed to be consistent and give a booking for the "accidental" elbow in the face that gave Morison a concussion.
What did he think when he swung his arm out at Morison? It'll all be ok because it's an accident...

Hard Luck Watford, we went through the same last season (albeit less drama), we managed to pick ourselves up and like you, were 3rd in the table for a reason, I think you will do well in the play offs.
Going up through the play offs is the best way, nice trophy and a great day out.
Hope you go up, I like Zola, hope he does well after the way we sacked him for keeping us up only for us to get relegated after. He also got us playing some great stuff.

About the game, whether you agree or disagree with the untold amount of decisions the ref made or not. I am in the opinion that it generally evens itself out over the season. The ref hasn't stopped you making chances or taking chances which you didn't do and thats why you are entering the play-offs instead of having an auto-promotion party right now. I think its unfortunate for you to not have your first choice goalie playing but your not the first team to have an important player injured in warm-up. And your not the only team to have had a keeper go off injured during a game as well.
About the poleon incident, I am genuinely surprised that that much damage was caused by that.
Good luck in the play-offs, I have always believed the top 3 in the league are the ones that deserve to go up.

Deliberately pushing a player chasing back into the path of an oncoming keeper with the sole intention of making them collide and hoping to get the ball after is very likely yo cause serious injuries. It is a nasty and cowardly act and he should hold his head in shame.

Ditto.... and the barefaced arrogance of his egotistical celebration to the Watford supporters after his goal says it all. He should have been booked for goading the fans IMO....

Look, I really don't want to get into a similar argument to what others have on this very thread as well as about 20 other threads. I don't think Poloen did anything particularly wrong and to me definitely didn't deliberately cause injury to anyone, far worse incidents happened in that game and in many other games over the weekend, yes it was a foul but nothing more. Its just unfortunate what followed and no one in the game wants to see anyone get hurt. The one thing that I really don't like about when a team loses is when they pinpoint one or two moments and say thats the reason they lost. That to me is a sore loser.

Just a great shame that we had to put a number 3 goalie on. What he did he knew he did and he has apologized to our goalie on twitter for it.... a yellow card yes....
we then let in two soft goals.....
I did not say it was the cause of us losing the game - I wrote that it was a nasty act that was deliberately done knowing it could cause serious injury. It's the same as pushing a running player into an advertising hoarding, it's a cowardly act and for me one that deserves a straight red card.

Well to quote the legal term for intent, its what is "reasonably foreseeable" and it is almost certain that by pushing one player into another at that speed you are going to cause a collision, and probably an injury. Therefore on that logic his actions clearly endangered another player.
