Is Miguel adequate as a 4th choice CB is Djourou & Squil leave?

Is Frimpong worth another 2 year deal? He's suffered with injuries but is Arsenal to the core. He's the kind of die-hard no-nonsense type the team needs.

A CF is vital, and sorting Pods injury out is too. Outside of that, I'd like another midfielder.

His development has stalled. I think he needs a loan move. Because the only way he can improve is by playing games week in week out.

    I'd go with that.

What about Miyaichi? And Joel Campbell? There's a lot of youngsters who could be in the 1st team squad. IMO when players reach 20 they should be on season-long loans with recall options if they're not going to be in the 1st team squad.

Play the 18 & 19 year olds in the NextGen to prepare them - with a smattering of senior players who need fitness.

Arsenal over the last 5 years:

    - Promising young players plateau after two years and never kick-on.
    - Established, proven senior players of international quality get demoralised by the lack of ambition, resulting in them wanting to leave, or just give up (Arshavin)
    - New/replacement players coming in tend to be cheaper, pale imitations of teh players they replaced
    - Injured players face a long protracted recovery process that is rocky to say the least ... back room medical staff and training methods not upto scratch perhaps
    - Repeated failure to tie up "big" (I wish) name signings ... long protracted negotiations end up with no move

Don't know who to blame, but we are firmly non-contenders in all teh important ways in which a football club should be competing.

The remedy a lot of Arsenal fans come up with is to get some of the old gaurd in to do teh coaching. Well, sadly, if you want to compete in modern football, you need innovators, much like AW was himself, not old school. There are no English old school ex-Arsenal players who are forging a reputaion as a the next Klopp. Mourihno. All we (english) produce are managers of a calibre that aspires to be parachuted into a struggling PL team with 10 games to go.

Splashing money? Let's face it, when you youth policy fails to deliver palyers who can develop to the required level, and the Aldi/Gumtree bargain hunting just gets you BOGOF types like the ones we have welcomed, meantime you "rivals" go steaming ahead, well, maybe you need to realise that you have to take a giant leap forward.

Bergkamp is making a name for himself, actually. As is Overmars.

A dream summer would be this:
IN: Jovetic, Cesc, Adler, Gonalons, Ogbonna
OUT: Denilson, Chamakh, Park, Bendtner, Sagna(we know it's over, a shame) Diaby (Sadly), Arshavin, Santos, Squillaci, Djourou, Mannone, Vermaelen (a make weight for Cesc, he's a good player)

    First team:

    Cazorla---Jovetic---Walcott
    ---------Fabregas----------
    ------Wilshere-Gonalons----
    Monreal-Merte-Kosc--Jenkinson
    ------------Adler--------------

Bench: Szczesny, Ogbonna, Gibbs, Arteta, Ramsey, Podolski, Giroud
Keep guys like Gervinho, Fabianski and Rosicky, who some might see going.
That's a title winning team that will never happen. One can dream though, one can dream.

There's no chance of Diaby leaving while he's injured as his contract isn't up yet.

Shifting Park, Denilson, Chamakh, Bendtner will be difficult as I don't think any are out of contract yet.

I entirely forgot about Park, Chamakh and Bendtner. Goes to show how much we really need be getting rid off, I count that as 12 players out in my ideal summer and 5 or 6 in, the sixth being a possible RB replacement such as Corchia.

I'd like to see Isco on the wing instead of Walcott.

There are only 5 places in the first squad of 25, even if Sagna goes.

I remain unconvinced about this lad. A busy, huffin puffin player, but he is not top notch quality of the type we see from GErmany, Spain, etc.

His driving runs through the midfield is a skill that few players have. He just needs a bit more of an end product (more assists and the odd goal) and he'll be fine. Considering what he already has in his skillset, it's very likely that Wilshere will become the best midfielder in the country within a couple of seasons. Just needs to stay injury-free. I think he's more like a German or Spanish player than an English one. Have to remember he's only 21, and will likely add that end-product soon.

He's definitely more Spanish/German than English. You can tell that, because he's good.

Wilshere is at least as good as Gotze, Reus and Kroos and better than the likes of Holtby.

He's yet to realise his potential but you can see it is there. I honestly wouldn't swap him, he is the most promising English midfielder since Paul Scholes. IMO

It really wories me when I read things like this, because I just can't see how fans are going to be happy. The chances of us signing 6 new players and them all playing well enough together and gelling next season, is virtually nil. Chelsea couldn't do it, Man City couldn't do it and we are not going to do it.

We need our core of players to improve, and a few signings to come in and find form quickly. But if we sign 6 new players and start changing our core, we haven't got any chance of success. If you think Wilshere isn't any good, then we can all give up now, because we cannot replace him as well as everybody else that needs changing.
