This is precisely my point. In response to my criticism of the way the whole process was handled, I get told that under the new rules from that very process, I could be banned for bringing it up!

Please read (and try to understand) NUTSâ posts above. Therein lays the truth of the matter. Your selective recall / agenda is anything but.
The rules haven't been changed but as made clear in the review and in my post at #6 above, simply defined in such a way that we can all be clearer what wumming, baiting, trolling etc. means exactly.
Let's forget your history of wumming, baiting and trolling for a moment. Your posts on this thread alone suggest you either have a case that I have lost the confidence of you and a significant number of other users on here (doesn't have to be a majority) - OR that you are once again holding a middle finger up to OUR rules, our posters and us as mods, on the three offences listed.
Now if I was the tyrant you make me out to be, I'd simply invoke the permanent ban you were warned about months ago, using the contents of the OP and your other posts above as more than sufficient grounds for action.
However, users on here have a right to expect a more gentlemanly approach from their mods. So rather than take the action you've so kindly (naively?) handed to me on a plate, I'll allow you the opportunity to go first old son.
In your OP you openly accuse me of many things: a shammer, liar, censor, tyrant, manipulator, power hungry, autocrat, hypocrite, sell-out.
I take it you have evidence to back this up, cos if you don't I think you'll find it's likely to be an awful big step on the way back down to earth!
However, if what you allege is true, I wholeheartedly agree, people certainly don't deserve a mod like that on this board of ours.
Therefore, as the enlightened one, you Swords now have both the rostrum and a duty to get that mod gone - but to achieve that you will first have to substantiate your claims. Shouldn't be too difficult though, since just about everything we do on here is on written record.

Pick the bones out of that lot. Concentrate on each of the OPs since they make clear what was being asked for. (Many of the replies missed the point completely, despite the number of times some of us tried to refocus people.)
Best of luck. A lot to read, I know - but believe me, took an awful lot longer organising, writing and reviewing it all.
In the meantime, to assist you further, I'll get the revised rules and guidelines document up for scrutiny. If you can get the support of, say, 15 of the 80 to 100 or so board users to express a lack of confidence in me as mod, my time's clearly up and I won't hesitate to walk.
However, if you fail to achieve those lowly figures, your claims will be seen as spurious / vexatious and your motives open to question. At that time the initiative will be in the hands of the (other) mods. If they find that your motives are simply related to the joy you get out of causing a rumpus (wumming, baiting or trolling) for nowt other than the helluvit, I fear the only way you'll ever get back on this site will be under a different user-name and a complete transformation of character!
Tbh, I know I've annoyed a few on here for actually doing the complete opposite of what you accuse me of: being too liberal and holding back on countless 'opportunities' to get you banned altogether in the past. Perhaps I should have acknowledged and acted on their concerns. Trouble was there were also the views of a number of (other) respected users to be taken into account, readers who find the sparks coming off your audacious and abrasive drivel amusing. Can't please all of the people all of the time I s'pose...

. How many other Moderators have put in such effort into serving their members not only on this Site, but on any other Site? Not many I would imagine and certainly none with more patience and respect for their associates. Having put as much endeavour, graft and time into such an undertaking and then having it picked apart by some Clown with more time than sense, it must indeed be quite galling.
