This is as much a joke as our transfer news, in fact there is very little difference between the two. :D

...fall out from the building works is liable to damage a natural pitch.

And people's heads!

Scaffold screening and netting is used to stop that sort of thing.

My name is Inda and I work in the construction industry.

Hiiii Spurf!

so what's the deal with this plastic pitch malarkey? is it a joke or not? I, for one, am very confused! (we know it doesn't take a lot)

Malarkey! The deal varies according to the quality and size Roo and of course according to the credibility of the participator.

Plastic pitch? - yeah I heard about this. We've kindly offered to take all those empty seats at the emirates and recycle them. <laugh>

Huddle, what's this 4g you talk of? I play footy at a sports academy that has 3G (I think) and they are incredible. I don't know how they could get any better...

It's one up from 3G basically. I'm not entirely sure what the difference is but I'm pretty sure that 4G is the highest spec currently licensed by the authorities for use. It goes all the way up to 6G though, according to Professor Google anyhow.

I'm sure that there's at least one SPL side that uses an artificial surface.
Young Boys don't any more, though. They've gone back to grass. As has the OP, I think... <whistle>

The only plastic pitch that springs to mind atm is the BBC's claim to be unbiased.
