Apparently wanting a move north, and is now a free agent? Personally, i wouldnt want him, but scores goals and has the experience. Only scores after a good few attempts though!
If he's a free agent I would certainly sign him. Scores a lot at this level and whenever you see him in the oppositions team he is the one you fear the most.
If we could shift Mclean he'd be a decent player to bring in, but Earnshaw, Simpson and Mclean are all too similar to have in one squad(I would gladly swap him for Mclean)
I think with the right service, McLean could become a goalscoring machine next season, were forgetting he hasnt played with Cameron Stewart yet, and he got more or less all our assist last season, even on the treatment table Simpson got better, still think he has a lot to improve on, you never know. But I'm dead eager for the new season already
Wouldn't touch him with yours. He's not a team player, he's got no awareness and no all round game. He's a good finisher but the whole team has to play for him. Never shown any ability to play with another front man either. He's not better than Matty Fryatt. He's got more pace. There isn't another area of the game he's better in though.
Strange, strange logic. Why wouldn't you want him? Earnshaw would be a decent signing, but I do think our current strikeforce would be good enough if we had a midfield.
It doesn't happen often, but you are spot on! We need a bigger striker to change games. Otherwise, we've been fine when we've got service into our strikers.
I actually agree with TWF! Simpson scored 12 goals in his season with QPR, with better service. Fryatt is a goal machine anyway and just let Mclean keep trying, he has found his feet in League one so give him abit of game time and if he isn't doing the job by January then he goes. Earnshaw is a very good goal scorer, and still quick for his age, but he comes across very arrogant and maybe not the time of player Nigel likes (similar to the bostock).
Earnshaw is a funny one, seems to me he can be having an absolutely dreadful game, barely seen, little or no impact. Then, from nowhere, can fire in a lovely effort into the bottom corner. I'd take him but he's not particularly what we need at the moment (assuming mclean stays of course).
He's a good player, especially if it was on a free. Hat-Tricks in Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4, in both Cup competitions and one for Wales is testament to the guys ability.
Are we interested in all of Notts Forest's strikers or something? Earnshaw wouldn't be a bad signing, though i think we're crying out for a target man tbh, but if Earnshaw can fit into our plans then we might as well go for him. Agree with TWF for once on the midfield side of things, though hopefully with Cameron Stewart coming back in about September some of the creativity will be back that we missed in the last 2 months of the season. Hopefully with a few tweaks our midfield will be just about right
Only if you judge a player purely on stats~! Earnshaw scores goals but apart from at the lower levels, it's not beneficial to the team, which is why his teams have never achieved anything. There's a reason teams keep selling him and why he finds himself on Forest's bench.
Target man like Adebola! Earnshaw would be a fantastic signing on a free and I honestly think NP will be looking at him. Cant see the player wantting to come here though. On Cameron, I think if he and rosenior had been fit 4 the run in, we would have pipped Forest to 6th.
Om paper he would seem a good signing but from what Ive heard he has an attitude problem and wouldnt have the mentality we want in the squad
Be interesting 2 see what sort of squad Forest have next season, there is alot of talk about player exits from the city ground
Very similar to Fryatt for me, we need a big man more then Earnshaw. That been said, as others have mentioned, get shot of McClean and he would be an ideal replacement.
What? How can scoring goals be anything other than beneficial? Please, please tell me I've misread that.
