He is like a bad smell - http://www1.skysports.com/football/...on?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=facebook Tony Pulis insists he has no plans to leave Stoke despite recent speculation Stoke boss Tony Pulis insists he has no plans to leave the Britannia Stadium, despite speculation about his future. Pulis has received some criticism from a section of the Potters fans in recent months, but he is adamant his record over seven-and-a-half years at the club stands up to scrutiny. Victory against Norwich on Saturday will assure Stoke's Premier League status for another year and Pulis believes club owner Peter Coates is content to leave him at the helm, after the pair had a chat on Tuesday. "We sat there for three or four hours chatting away about everything, and he never mentioned anything about whether I was leaving or not," said Pulis. "If I was going to walk away then I would have told him by now, and I certainly didn't mention anything about walking away. "If I was going to walk away then I would have told him by now, and I certainly didn't mention anything about walking away. This football club has been absolutely fantastic to me." Tony Pulis "This football club has been absolutely fantastic to me. The Coates family are wonderful, wonderful people to work for. "My respect for them goes a lot further than just closing a door and walking away. People who know me know I'm not somebody who just walks off into the sunset. "For seven-and-a-half years at this football club, I don't think I've done too badly, and I don't think the club has done too badly either." Pulis continued: "Do you get judged over a bad period of three months? Or do you get judged over a period of time? "Everything is instant. Everybody wants results, results and results, and if you don't get them I understand. "I'm big enough and experienced to know if you don't get results in this job then there is pressure on you, and you have to deal with that pressure." But even if Pulis keeps Stoke in the Premier League for a sixth consecutive season, he cannot currently state whether he will be around for the next campaign. It is more than likely he will face further talks with Coates at the end of the season. "Let's get to 40 points and then we can start talking about everything else," added Pulis. "I hope and want to be here, but it's everybody else, and the two most important factors in this are the family and myself. "I've not said anything and the family haven't said anything." Asked whether he could do more, or whether he had taken the club as far as they could go, Pulis said: "There is still work to be done and other areas that can be improved. "I hope I'm the man to do it, but it comes down to the Coates family and myself getting together and talking about it. But if you're asking me if I'm happy, I've always been happy at this club."
Oh for Gawds sake Waddo Just because Pulis say's "He won't walk away" does not mean "The Coates family (might) ask him to leave with a pretty please added for good measure. I don't ge the " We sat and talked" wording either.
http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.u...e-City-video/story-18803925-detail/story.html Take a look at this too lads... similar wording to your link Waddo. Taken from tonights Sentinel.
I still think he will be gone come next season. The new blood want the youth academy to flourish and Pulis is anti youth!
This football club, this football club, this club, this club.................say it again Pulis I ****ing dare you, do us all a favour and piss off!!
http://lawofattracttalkradio.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/DeniseHeadshotSmall.jpg Let me introduce Denise Coates guys! Looks well balanced, a nice midfield and has two decent big one's up front.
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...zoGgBQ&usg=AFQjCNHNkOoIATq7ZJwUWMdOi14GLDdang Oops... sorry guys I clicked the wrong link.. a deliberate error on my part. This is one very shrewd Lady, she probably knows more about football than Pulis does...
She is a proper business woman Potts and won't suffer fools like her old man does. That's why Pulis's number is up mate!
Waddo She could have my number anytime! She's intelligent, has money and drives an Aston Martin. Would love to be there if/when she ever does tell Pulis to close the door on your way out!
I think the writing is already on the wall potts mate and that's why Pulis has dicked us over this year!
Agree 100 per cent with that Waddo but....? Why the hell doesn't Pulis and or Mr Coates come clean. And be honest and up front about this. It's pretty obvious that his time is almost at an end. BUT he still insists in short "There is nothing in it" " I'm happy here" Just hope he does not do a Gillingham on us Waddo and tries to stick it out and or fight his corner. That said.. His contract is a rolling one I think? yearly ending this June.. so he can't say I want compo or a pay off! Would that be right Waddo.?
A he'll never leave voluntarily then? The last 2/3 have been terrible. He is the only one that doesn't realise. And in the midst of all this, I had that idea that I'm not too sure on Denise Coates... Ive read the article Potts posted, and seen a few other bits on the net too, and Yes, she sounds like an excellent buisness woman, it is actually her in charge of Bet365, Peter only owns a "small share", and she is proud of being from Stoke, keeping the buisness based here, rather than moving offshore for tax reasons, BUT, what does this mean for the club? As I've said, she's obviously an excellent buisness woman, but how would that translate to being chairwoman of a Football club? Bad things can happen can happen when sports get looks at purely as a buisness. Hopefully she has the passion to ensure we are PROFITABLE and ENJOYABLE!
I think this is the case. Has been in previous years. Hopefully he hasn't wormed his way into a more secure contract recently.
Sandor I don't have any worries should Denise Coates take over as Chairman... let's be honest the be and end all is to make money in football... SKY being proof of the pudding. For me personally it's spoiling the game, as I knew it but... She has the money and the know how to run Stoke City F.C. With a GOOD MANAGER doing the footballing side of things... let's call it the nitty gritty parts. I think we would be OK mate. Peter Coates is on record as saying.. " One day I will be too old to carry on but, once a Stokie always a Stokie" Fair play to him, a local lad from Goldenhill done good and he COULD have gone elsewhere. He didn't and neither will Denise Coates. All it needs is the right guy at pitchside on Saturdays, just my own opinion of course.
For my twopennyworth, NOT walking away means not before the end of the season. And not when we are mathematically safe (if indeed we get there). Close season and he will be gone. Hopefully.
The only chance of being rid of Clulis is that we get relegated. And even then it's not certain he will be sacked.
