This is what's wrong with football. This mud slinging mentality. There are idiots at every club but hopefully they are caught and removed from football matches in the future.

Can't stand this sensible debate from DL of late!

    "Final nail"

    A bit extreme perhaps.

They still have the best player in the world. When he leaves them, you can get the coffin out DL.

Love how the goons are already talking about summer transfer targets, shows how little confidence they have in the current group.

Reading the BBC gossip column at the moment just depresses me:

    Man Utd lining up Lewandowski
    Chelsea lining up Falcao
    Man City lining up Cavani

Not that I believe the rumours, but there really are some brilliant forwards around these days, and we haven't a hope of signing any of them...

Huh? Where did you get all that from? Had it been a reverse score I'd have said the same but with the teams reversed. I've long said Barca neglect their defence to a farcical level and that can be exposed, even when they have Puyol and Pique both available it's still a farce because of how they're set up and frankly neither defender is that good. I certainly don't put them on a pedastal as the stand out best team like you think.

The thing with Barca though is that on there game they can score 4 goals against anyone, especially at home, that's the benefit of having one of the greatest players of all time in your team.

The heck with all those "great forwards".I'll just pray that Spurs can score one more goal than the opposition.....just like United this season!
Can I borrow an Emirates prayer mat,Monsewer Wenger?

I only saw part of the game. However, from what did see it seemed to me that in some ways Bayern played Barca at their own game. Whenever they lost possession they harried and chased until they regained it - in the manner that Barca themselves used to be so good at.

The Barca defence was simply bullied & then overrun - albeit with the help of some highly questionable decisions.

They will certainly need to reach for their chequebook come summertime.

It was also proved that, as good as Messi is, even he can't play a team as good as Bayern on his own.

Exactly what I think - except you've managed to say it in one post and two lines (which is several lines and numbers of posts less than I waffled on!)

And so-called sport stations like TalkShite will not talk about anything BUT Suarez, thus avoiding any proper debate over the other serious incidents. But (since it's topical after Utd winning the title) what about considering what would have happened if Nasri or Sturridge had committed their offences against a Utd player at OT? Or perhaps a player from any team apart from the old sky 4 plus City had done that against Utd? Would the ref have "seen" it, would Fergie have gone apoplectic, would the FA have taken retrospective action then? Until this semi-random refereeing is sorted out, contrary to what the pundits keep on saying, THE TABLE DOES LIE.

Hope so, they should have won it last year. They were just about the best team in Europe and improved massively. That CM pairing of Schweinsteiger and Javi Martinez is better than any in world football, and we haven't even mentioned Kroos or Gustavo yet.

It will be a crying shame if Bayern or Dortmund don't win it.

Absolute nail on head. Chelsea were fortunate to escape the game with just an injury to Oscar. Bertrand could quite have easily had a broken ankle and Hazard was more or less kicked off the park. The same applies to Kyle Walker in the Spurs game. Sky were in outrage when Drogba scored an offside goal at Old Trafford and when United had 2 50/50 calls not given as they crumbled at home to Spurs but now all they want to talk about is Suarez.

There's no such thing as an accident, it's a case of referees seeing what they want to. I doubt so many key incidents would have been "missed" if committed on a United player for instance. In the case of Demba Ba v Newcastle it's a simple case of the referee failing to apply the rules

Whilst bayern deservedly trounced Barcelona (and i agree with DL - they are excellent and the stand out team in europe at the moment with the possible exception of Watford <whistle>) it once again begs the question "what the hell is the point of having an official behind the goal?" That body check for the third goal was as blatant a foul as I have ever seen and if the official couldn't spot that then he's blind, stupid, has the attention span of a hyperactive goldfish or knows no more about the game of football than I do about 13th century *****lian chamber music.

I laughed my head of because it was barcelona on the receiving end but it really was a joke to be honest.

More rubbish. If you lot were as good as Jon Obi Mikel that should see you in the Championship.

Really, in 2010/11 they beat United in the Final 3-1, United had just won the league by 9 points from you plums indicating they can defend a bit.

All in all you really have no idea, but your comedy comments are hugely entertaining!

Runaway La Liga winners elect Barcelona comprehensively beaten on the night 4-0...must be a **** league! DL dismantles his own theory all by himself! <laugh>

Or maybe Jon Obi Mikel is actually a very good player. Been a key player in Mourinho, Hiddink and Ancelotti's sides (some of the worlds best coaches). They can't ALL be wrong.

The league was piss poor that year and I think it only took 71 points to come 2nd or something ridiculous like that. Since around 2009 (the year United won the league), it's definitely been a league in decline. Barca's strength was pressing high up the pitch with retention of the ball meaning their CB's don't have to do much. They aren't as good at keeping the ball due to their opponents adopting the same tactics they use off the ball and pressing high up the pitch.

It took a set piece and a long punt up the pitch for Celtic to score twice against them despite having virtually no possession. It took 3 counter attacks for Chelsea to score 3 times against them with no possession. Last night it took Bayern 2 set pieces to score twice against them and 2 counter attacks.

How many teams could have 65% and concede 4 times? 84% and concede twice? Doesn't take Einstein to work out the problems are clearly in defence. They cannot defend and their weaknesses at the back are glaringly obvious.

It's not a **** league, but it's not as strong as the Bundesliga. Top 4 in Bundesliga are comfortably better than the top 4 in Spain or in England.

Whilst Barcelona have won the league, I still consider Real the better team. Same with United and City in England. Both clubs have been undone by dressing room battles with managers and a lack of general motivation with complacency creeping in.
