Vidic, Ferdinand and Anderson out on the piss.
Looks like Utd have decided to **** the weekend's game off. <doh>

Your 6th place dross beat the two best teams in those divisions last season DL, so apparently you have more quality, according to your thinking.
Can't say that I agree.

Barca were ****e yesterday, but they were basically playing with 10 men, as Messi clearly wasn't fit.
Add their defensive woes to the mix, the dubiously treated pitch and the two goals that shouldn't have counted and I don't think that the gulf's as big as some people are suggesting.
At least one new centre-back and a new keeper in the summer and they'll be back, unfortunately.
Their manager's health problems are an issue for them, too.

As I said before Drogba, Cech, Terry and Lampard were once top quality players, best in their positions. Age and injuries + managerial changes meant they weren't able to produce their best form week in week out hence a lowly 6th place finish but as proved over a 10 game period or so could still compete with the best.

Barca's woes yesterday weren't caused by Messi being fit, even if he had been 100% fit the scoreline would have been no different. Bayern's tactics were spot on and Barca's Achilles heal was at the back where it has been for years in truth.

For me, there is a massive gulf between Bayern and everybody else. If Real were playing at the same level and same determination as last season, I'd probably put them in the same bracket.

Bayern could put a near 2nd team that could probably still beat Barca over 2 legs. Barca could not even of beaten PSG or Milan without Messi never mind some of the best teams in Europe.

Aren't all that lot injured anyway? Didn't play against Villa...

Well if they weren't before that, then they probably are now! <laugh>
Rooney, Evra, van Persie, Jones <monster> and Smalling were also out on the piss, apparently. Monday night and there was no training yesterday.

Anyone that thinks the Premier League is even close to the Bundesliga or La Liga is living in cuckooland because the last 3 seasons results and performances against Bundesliga and La Liga suggest otherwise.

2010 CL qtr's - 2 English clubs, 1 german.
2011 CL qtr's - 3 English clubs, 1 german...Schalke, stuffed 6-1 on agg by United in the semi!
2012 CL qtr's - 1 each.

The last 3 seasons solid facts here kind of piss all over your stupid results based baloney!

Bayern are the only one with any regularity, over the years, the likes of Leverkusen, Dortmund etc, take turns having one decent season till they sell their best players to Bayern or someone else.

We'll see how good Dortmund are minus Gotze, Lewandowski, and any other that may jump ship.

When asked if he’d call Pep for advice on beating Barca, Jupp Heynckes replied: “Call Pep? Please respect me, I don’t need to call anyone.” <laugh>

"Looks like Utd have decided to **** the weekend's game off."

Has anyone noted the irony of the cab ad ?? :D

Just what I was thinking. Along with the concern that Anderson might not be able to face the goons <yikes>

Not sure it proves they are on the piss?

yes it would have, Messi would have been running at defenders a lot more and they would have probably got that away goal and the 2nd and 3rd goals should not have stood anyway so Bayern had luck on thier side there.

I notice that you've picked out Spurs losing to Real in 10/11 and Man Utd beating Schalke, but not Spurs beating and drawing with Bremen, for some reason, DL.
Any more omissions in there?

It's also an utter irrelevance, as individual cup games aren't a barometer of anything.
Bradford and Blackburn aren't better than Arsenal and Swansea aren't better than Chelsea, despite the Welsh beating you over two legs.

It was supposedly taken at 2am as they were on their way to another nightclub.
Jones and Smalling were photographed at 5.45am the same morning looking a little worse for wear.

OK, that provides a bit more evidence. Hopefully Monday night/Tuesday morning, so that they can recover properly.

In Football Manager, FIFA 13 or PES2013 maybe that would have been the case, but in real football it wouldn't have. Bayern closed down the space, gave no Barca player any time on the ball. 35% possession and still dominant, tactically they found Barca wanting.

I honestly didn't remember the game with Bremen, wasn't it 3-0 with a Defoe brace? Arsenal and Chelsea didn't give it their all, that was the real reason they lost.
