Kaboul is like Verts in the fact he is so versitile and can play in any position along the back or a DM and for me that makes the depth in our defence so great when all are fit!

I expect the same as he does have great vision and excellent space awareness but the pessimist in me says he could be lightweight (i know the comparisons with Modric on this one)

For me, No. I think he's far more effective in the centre. However, it is nice to know that we have that versatility that he can play here if needs be.

    I'm split between two minds.

Kaboul is very good at RB, yes he's better at CB but for the sake of a stronger defence overall, I think Kaboul at RB with Dawson/ Caulker in the centre with Verts (or even Verts LB with Daws & Caulker in the centre together) would actually result in a more solid back line. Kaboul's no slouch (as admitted by Walker himself) so those worried about the pace aspect being lost shouldn't be.

So do we go for a potentially stronger/ solid back line with Kaboul RB, OR play him in his favoured and best position which I suppose would strengthen the back line anyway. Toughie.

What sways Kaboul at RB for me is the hope that Caulker can get more games, his potential won't/ can't be reached sitting on the bench.

Can you imagine a back four of Kaboul, Dawson, Caulker, Vertonghen. I think most teams would be cacking themselves at corners, if only we could deliver one into the right area.

away against the best teams that is a good line up. Not overly ambitious going forward as a back 4 and as you say absolutely terrifying at set pieces.

In fairness to Naughton, he's spent most of this season at his less comfortable Left Back position, so his transfer from Norwich wonderkid to Tottenham failure shouldn't be considered too much. Saying this, next season, I think the two RB's we have should be alternated more, just so Walker doesn't get complacent, and Naughton gains needed confidence.

With regards to Kaboul's pace, I'm sure I read somewhere that Kaboul was the fastest sprinter we had on the team when the players race each other, so pace, if he has to fill in at RB shouldn't really be a concern if I'm correct.

I don't doubt Dembele is the right player to pair with Sandro, but have started to wonder myself if Carroll wouldn't be better to pair with Parker. It's certainly a big risk, but Dembele has had very few really good games paired with Parker, and I get the feeling Carroll would be a better match; better able to start the team going forward. Parker would need to stay back more, but he seems to still do that well. It's his going forward which seems to have dropped off.
