No- your 8% pay rise doesn’t bother me personally. But Big Dave says we are all in this together and when people are not getting a pay rise for many years and others are clearly getting pay rises then that shoots down Dave’s bullshit.

The unions have no power and never have had any real power. The iluminati have the power. The unions are a mere irritant to the capitalists and when they get too big for their boots they have been destroyed.

You mentioned that you do not need a union but you also mentioned you have a specific skill set. 95% of the population do not have that. Locally in Swansea places like Amazon and the call centres are treating their workers like ****. Cast aside after three months and new faces brought in. For many people theit trade union is their only protection – if they are lucky enough to have a union to belong to. Who are your real enemies – the unions or the illuminati?

People can’t get mortgages because they have no job security. If you can’t get a mortgage, what do you do? Rent. Who picks up the rent – landlords. You put that on a national level and the fat cats are getting fatter.

There are choices in life. You will never be part of the illuminate – they had to put up with Murdoch because of his press power, but he was never one of them. You may think you will be OK because of your current job situation. But jobs get pulled and unless you can get another immediate job then you are vulnerable.
The country’s infrastructure is being reduced to skelektal form and there may be a point in your life when you or your family have to rely on it. Hopefully not.

Thatchers death for many is symbolic of a small pillar of the capitalist system being broken. For many who suffered the consequences of her policies they are expressing their anger - it is sad it has come to this, but if you live by the sword you die by it. It may seem distasteful, but that is how it is. Thatcher created a selfish greedy uncaring "society" through her policies - in death she may be a victim of her own actions. We would never have behaved like this thirty years ago.

PGF would it surprise you to learn that I don't have enemies ? I live my life and get on with things. But everyone has opportunities in life it's about grabbing those and going with it.

I don't really consider myself anything special, I left school at 16 and hated it there. I spent a couple of years on yts schemes then got into an industry that allowed me to travel, that I did for almost 20 years. I then went back to education and got a degree, that may I add the government paid for.

I then eventually got into the business I'm in now, after 5 years of hard work I'm in a good position. It took a lot of hard work and to work for a good family owned company.

The point I'm trying to make is that you don't need unions or governments to succeed, you just need to grab the opportunities as they arise, not be afraid to work hard, and not rely on others to do things

Yes - but it doesn't always work like that! In a perfect world we would not need trade unions. Trade unions were formed because of greedy capitalist bastards who treated their workforces like ****! Unfortunately we are heading back that way.

The point is that most companies don't treat their employees like ****, you point out amazon , I point out admiral insurance. There is good and bad situations in most walks of life. I know a few working for amazon by the way and have been there since they opened, they think they are good employers. Though they do employ temporary staff to work the Christmas period.

Depends who you talk too! Admiral have a good reputation. Amazon has been shocking for a while - it may have got better because they have run out of people to sack/not renew their contract! What is going on in some of the telephone call centres though is a disgrace.

Think we are getting close to agreement here lol , my niece has been sacked twice by call centres, one was closed down for their illegal practices, and the other sacked all the people they took on from the former because X-ray did a programme about the practices.

There are good and bad employers, shame there didn't appear to be good and bad governments, IMO they are all the same.

You did ok - good for you.

You seriously think all of those who lost their jobs (thousands and thousands) could have done the same in the mid 80s.?????

I accept a small minority could have.

However the vast majority never stood a chance.

If you believe otherwise theres no point in debating.

Lets face it you defend her as you did well - its the im allright thing - thats ok.

But just admit it. Maybe you feel better in yourself thinking everyone could have done the same.

There simply wasnt the jobs there for the vast majority of thousands sent on the dole. Then there was less spending - shops shut, pubs shut , people left on benefits.

Everybody is different, there are opportunities even now to do things. To simply say that in 3 decades there are no chances for jobs etc is just bullshit. Some of my friends who worked in the mines retrained and went into other careers, if they could do it then why couldn't others ?

Thatcher has a lot to answer for the same as other politicians who have done nothing but lined their own pockets. Blair and Brown are directly responsible for this recession now, they had chances to put things right, what did they do ? Yes fuel huge debt, people now are losing their jobs, houses and have huge debts.

Businesses now are closing, comet, mfi, jessops and so on, is that thatchers fault ? Or could it be that Blair and brown have fueled the boom and bust cycle, and we are in the longest recession in modern times because of it.

Blame thatcher if you wish for what she did, but lets face facts here, more people are losing jobs faster than they did 3 decades ago, more businesses are going out of business, and more people working for the government are losing their jobs than ever. I treat every politician with equal contempt, they are all responsible for the way the government runs.

I know mate, but they are all at it, just look at the expenses scandal where most MPs from across the board were claiming for their plasma TVs and cleaning their moats. If this was you or I we probably be done for fraud and sent down.

If you came from a mining community that Thatcher ruined you have every right to hate her. For pretty much everyone else though she did a lot of good. Shutting down the coal mines affected 1000's of lives, but subsidising those loss making state owned dinosaur industries was negatively affecting almost everyone else. I think the people who view her as evil must admit that she was a necessary evil.

And what about taxpayers money subsidising loss making banks? Are they shut down? A necessary evil allowed to continue - why? Whose interests are being protected?

Yes they certainly did look after the vulnerable, until recently they did by blowing up people, and killing our soldiers, no small portion being welsh !
