I've tried doing it reasonably seriously. Obviously my knowledge is somewhat limited, but I have tried reading up on the various draft prospects, and the team needs too. It's my best shot at it, but I have no clue what players fit the various schemes :p I think the only pick I'm pretty sure of is #1, and even then it's a toss up between Joeckel and Fisher.

Looking at it now though, I guess the Bills could be drafting a QB in Round 1 now that they've got Kolb on a cheap incentive-based contract.

Well, thing is, nobody is really sure, that's why mock drafts are such a joke! Pulling names out of a hat would be only slightly less reliable.

Bills QB situation is interesting. Ryan Nassib is a possible first rounder and his college HC, Doug Marrone, is now the Bills HC. I'd think he's surely not worth the top 10 pick Bills have... but I thought Tannehill wasn't worth top 10 either.

Basically, if Brandon Weeden can go in the first round, anyone can.

You have until the draft to do it I think, so another couple of weeks yet <ok>

Most, if not all, of the mock drafts don't take into account teams trading down also. It is very likely that a team will want to trade down, especially in that zone around the end of the top 10.

Yeah don't know enough about the majority of the players in the draft and the team needs of the other teams to really have a go at this. Saw one draft that had the Vikes taking Austin at 23 and Jarvis Jones/Te'o 25. That would be pretty incredible, pretty sure we trade out of one of the spots into the 2nd round though.

There are 4 positions of need for the Vikes, linebacker, especially middle, wide receiver, defensive tackle and corner back. If we can fill these spots with our early round picks and the player come good, then we will have a very good team. A lot depends on how well Ponder progresses though.

Doubt it'll happen. Austin will definitely go before 23, Keenan Allen is a much more realistic target, and if Jones gets to us at 24 he's going no further - we've had him in all day today.

Looking at it the 3 WRs who look most likely to go in the first are Patterson, Austin and Allen. And from what I've read different teams rate them in different orders, virtually everyone thinks Patterson will go first (can't remember who to though).

I've watched a bit of tape on the WRs and 2 who look good deeper down the draft are Dobson and Hopkins, so I'll be interested to see where they end up

Actually, Patterson's appearing to drop out of the first recently. Word is that he's really not impressing in interviews, because he's a bit thick. Exciting talent but looking a bit Stephen Hill-ish.

Tavon is easily my favourite of the receivers, he's brilliant. I'm excited to see where Ryan Swope goes - can go as early as the second if he's lucky - but particularly Aaron Mellette because I have no idea where he could go, from third to seventh. Huge potential, out of Elon, which until Mellette I had absolutely never heard of. Could be either a huge gamechanger or an absolute nobody.

Also interesting to point out, we have three Brits who are declared as eligible for this draft, and all of them have a very real chance of being drafted. Menelik Watson looks set to go in the first couple of rounds, he's an Offensive Tackle. Tom Wort is a linebacker who could be a later-round pick, from what I've read he is at his best on the blitz but his size and coverage are an issue. Then obviously there's Lawrence Okoye. Not sure what his position is, he's again expected to go later, but his draft stock is rising and has a lot of teams interested in him.

Watson could go in the first - not great at the moment but has tons of potential. Wort might be quite lucky to get drafted, no idea why he entered this year after a disappointing season, should have stayed in college for another year. Okoye... ugh... hope he doesn't get drafted.

He's never played the sport before. Completely undeserving and reflects badly on the sport as a whole.

What's your opinion of that kicker who's just signed with the Lions then? <laugh>

I don't mind that, because he's actually played the sport and a kicker is different anyway. Okoye... eh. Brock Lesnar is a ****ing triumph of evolution and he couldn't make a final roster, so we'll see.
