...newspapers are reporting that Wenger has been given a massive kitty to strengthen his team in the summer and we all know where he likes to do his shopping.

I suggest we start by putting a price tag on all of our players and here are some for a start.

Morgan: £75 million and cheap at the price.
Luke: £65 million plus loads of add on sums for England appearances and a massive 50% sell on clause for when he decides he really wanted to play for Chelsea all the while.
Gaston: £35 million plus Walcott in part exchange.

What price our other players and our promising kids?

Just remember if you see a rather dodgy looking Frenchman in the New Forest hiding behind trees with a pair of binoculars he is not a twitcher nor a voyeur but Arsene seeking out great talent for which he apparently has an international reputation.

Our players seem very happy and not searching for a move...so the only person that could be tempted with money is Cortese and good luck with that.

Even though I suspect you are being a little bit tongue in cheek, over the span of their careers luke, morgan and gaston could prove to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars to us. I can't think of too many players who have been regulars this year who I would be happy to sell, perhaps Jos but we wouldn't get back his value to us same with Davis, and Puncheon who could find themselves on the periphery next year pending form and new players or they could prove to be instrumental to our push up the league.

I don't want us to sell any of our best players and believe we should put a ridiculous price tag on them and stick with it.

Look at the value of Bale and Walcott now which always leaves me feeling we were mugged when we had to sell them.

    That will never happen again.

What would you value Walcott at then? He may have hinted at leaving arsenal recently, but did anyone make any concrete offers, or even speculative ones? Not sure he's improved much since he left us, unlike that bloke who used to play left back, and who is now one of the best players in the prem.

I keep telling arsenal fans they've got a gem in Oxtail-Chamberpot, but it will be interesting to see how his career develops now. Wonder if he ever looks at our current upward trajectory and thinks "what if"?

Arsenal were inviting offers for Walcott in the summer, when he only had a year on his contract and had never really reached his potential. Figures of around £9m were being quoted. Since then though he's played very well and they wouldn't consider selling him for less than double that now, but it was only his wage demands that kept him at the club in the summer.

The only one that I think he may be interested in is Shaw in my view, possibly Ramirez. The other players do not have a high enough profile.........I truly cannot think either would be tempted with the state of things at the moment. The players feel that Saints can win some trophies in the not to distant future although granted Arsenal maybe a better bet for European football in the short term. The summer signings for ourselves may indicate our chairman's ambitions. Truly though I cannot see any major players out, but hey what do I know............

That's not Mr Wenger, that's the ghost of Peter Sellars and the guy in the tree above about to dive in quasi Kung Fu fashion is ... T Lee trying to find his way back to Staplewood.

I can't see Arsenal being any better next season. Every summer I think this'll be the time they actually make some ambitious signings and it never happens. They'll sell one of their best players and replace him with two crap ones from Montpellier or somewhere like that.

I'd say that Walcott's form hit a notable spike whilst his future was in limbo. It has since returned to its former level of not knowing what an end product looks like; just ask my fantasy football team.

It has been reported that Wenger is going to splash the cash this Summer. But he needs top class players if Arsenal are going to compete for the title. But who would be willing to join Arsenal?

If they finish 4th - and I reckon they will - then they'll be able to attract top players with the promise of Champions League football. But whatever transfer kitty the manager may have, it's unlikely that they'll be able match the wages the 2 Manchester clubs or Chelsea could offer.

United, City and Chelsea won't want all the players or even the same type of player, so suspect Wenger will still have a good choice. If we haven't vacuumed them up first<whistle>

I suspect Cortese will do his usual thing of binning the enquiries from other clubs. Besides, we may want some of their players anyway.

I have always been suspicious of the fact that, apart from Oxo, no one has ever apparently made an offer for one of our players (and lived to tell the tale).

I suspect it's because, apart from Oxo, no player has wanted to leave. I think that if Saints had been in the Championship, at the time of his departure, he may still be a part of this club. Also, Lallana has sent out a huge message to his fellow professionals in his re-signing.

At least Cortese had the minor pleasure of taking the shirts off the negotiators backs, before he allowed Chamberlain to leave.

No club would pay bid money for Theo, he is abit of a pussy when it comes to injuries and normally misses 10 games a season. I think he has dodgy shoulder joints that may have popped out at one time.
