At the weekend had a drive around the new housing estate situated on the hallowed turf (now soil) of BP. Have to say the houses going up are pretty shoddy. There were no street templates. Does anyone know if they are to be named after any of the legends i.e. Wagstaff Way, Chilton Close etc? I know there are similar in the City but there are many names to choose from and it would be appropriate.

Dont people have to be dead to have streets named after them? Im sure this has come up before and cos Raich Carter way already exists they were struggling for names. I think Viggo Jensen might have been mentioned.
They've made a right mess of it.
Instead of calling it Boothferry Park, they've called the development Amber.
And the street names are ****, the council only allowed five names to be City related, I can't remember what they all are, but they include Bunkers Way, Carter Road, Black and Amber Walk.

Having had a glance, it seems there are six City related street names, I can't find the others, but they're just as cheesy as those mentioned above.

Meanwhile moves are well advance to erect a memorial on the site of the boulevard.

There are supporters and ex-players ashes scattered on Boothferry Park.
Who's representing their memory?
We haven't even got a plaque/information board/ even a street sign showing visitors to the KC where Hull City's original ground was.
Which if you didn't know was a few hundred yards away from the main entrance to the KC.
I doubt it there is another football club in the land who show so little respect to the history of their clubs as previous owners of our club have done over the years.
At least the Allams bought Deano's Championship Play-Off's winners medal to keep it in the city.
Have any other previous owners done anything similar?

I suspect that it will be like the development I live on. The plans show parking for 2 cars per house - 1 in the garage and another space, plus parking spaces for visitors.
The trouble is, there is only me that uses their garage to park a car in, so everyone else parks in the visitor spaces or anywhere they can, so when you do get visitors they have nowhere to park.
Absolute nightmare at times
I suspect it's still rather better than living in Clapham, by the time I got home from my office in North London, I couldn't park anywhere near my place.
The houses look very small and boxi to me. I expected much better on the site.

These development properties are total ****e. Probably better materials and workmanship go into building a dolls house, a garden shed or a card board box.

Tragic. Makes me want to weep thinking of the memories and the good times at BP. I had planned to have my ashes spread on the track there. Thank God I didn't die 10 years ago.
