I think a short term loan would be good, whether that be now or at the start of next season. He needs some game time and has had limited opportunities due to Puncheon, Lallana, Rodriguez and Lambert all performing well. Even Guly seems to be more favoured.

It also said on that article about Lee and Chaplow. I really don't see a future for Chaplow with four midfielders ahead of him, five if you include Hammond at BHA. With Lee, I think we should either play him or sell him due to his high wages. We decided to loan him out, so I'd be inclined to go with the latter as it hasn't quite worked out and he's had limited opportunities with Lambert, Rodriguez and even Mayuka being more favoured. I'd even say that Sharp showed more for us than Lee.

If we stay up most of the fringe players will be gone. We are just making sure we stay up before we get rid of the players that are now not good enough.

I thought this might be the case. He's got his dream move and slacked off. It showed in his performances for Zambia at AFCON.

Thought he would be a very good player for us....I also felt it wouldn't work out for JRod so it proves I'm a very poor judge of player!

I predicted his signing 6 months before it happened. If only he'd actually been good I might have fancied myself as a future scout.

Don't know what to make of this. Bit gutted if true because he obviously had potential.

I wasn't overly excited about his arrival, but didn't see it ending quite this quick. I would prefer us to avoid signing players who go away to play for their countries at key times anyway, selfish, but true.

I was telling a friend at work about the mystery of Mayuka the other day, he's a Spurs fan and was at St Marys when he came on in the 2nd half and caused havoc. He couldn't believe we had barely used him since then.

I don't understand why he isn't getting a run out in the U21s though as an overage player, odd.

Not a real suprise is it? Saints fans who tell me he is class are clueless, he is terrible.. Would like to see him gone ASAP really as he doesn't warrant his fee or wages! And it's not often i hate on players, but he just hasn't seemed to care at all.

Becuase he's crap?

Not sure we can assume he doesn't care- haven't seen enough of him. I'm disappointed as I want him to be the player he promised. Same for lee really, the little I saw of him in NPC he impressed me.

But we can't seem to get the signings we want in attacking midfielders ie courtinio, lens. So what do we do?

This is the thing that confuses me, just seems like you're setting him up to fail when you sign a young raw player and then give him about three hours of competitive football and one run-out in the U21s in the space of 7 months. I don't think many players would blossom in that situation.

Well, he trains every day, under two managers, it's safe to assume something is up with him. You have to work for a place in a squad, and if he doesnt, he doesnt warrant a place, so yeah by not playing he must be worse than what we already have.
