Morning All,
not much betting wise for me today, will have a go at the placepot at Aintree, but may well be a day for fav backers, although am pretty sure one of the shorter priced ones will get beat, but which one is the question?
Anyways for what its worth, here are my ones to avoid today
2.00 Zuider Zee 12/1 - This race really should go to My Tent or Yours, and quite comfortably really, but the fact that it has run at Cheltenham puts me off and besides I couldn't back it at that price. The selection has a fairly decent record on the flat, will relish the ground and looked quite good on it's two previous outings over hurdles, finishing second on it's hurdes debut to Minella Forfitness (who runs later today) at Doncaster on good going before scoring impressively at Ayr over the 2 miles. Granted it did'nt beat much, but couls be open to any sort of improvement and for me offers the better value in this race behind the favourite.
2.30 Sea of Thunder 7/1 - The betting suggests that this race is between Dynaste and Rocky Creek, but I think the Irish raider here has as good a chance as both of them , with both of it's previous wins coming when the going has Good in the description, has won before when coming back from a break and could well be understimated here in this race.
3.05 Flemenstar 6/1 - Not a race to get involved in, as it could well turn out to be another jumping exhibition from Sprinter Sacre, however, I think the step up in distance may well bring it closer to the field and as such, if I were to take him on, I would be backing Flemenstar in this, who at this price is an eacy way bet to nothing, and for me is a lot better horse than a lot of people give it credit for.
3.40 Walk On 22/1 - The Topham Chase over the National Fences is a complete lottery and congrats to any one who does find the winner. Like yesterdays Foxhunters, you may as well just pick a number and hopes your horse gets round. Obvioulsy you need a good jumper, but you also need a lot of luck over these fences, having said that I think at 22's Walk On is worth an each shout in this one, as it is now five lbs lower than its last run at Cheltenham, but then there's my problem is that it did run at Cheltenham, but at the price is worth a small stakes wager maybe. Others worth looking at maybe Little Josh and Tartak.
4.15 Yesyoucan 10/1 - I cant for the life work out why you would want to run At Fishers Cross again this season, and for me this could well be the short priced fav that gets beat today. The one I would be going for is Yesyoucan, who won impressively last time out at Carlisle and I think the step up to three miles may wel suit the selection.
4.50 Native Gallery 14/1 - Has won on both of it's previous visits to the Liverpool track, the only downside is the lack of run, but if fully fit, could be worth backing in what is quite a wide open contest.
5.25 Cailin Annamah 14/1 - I am no good at picking out winners from these sort of races, but this one looks really wide open, with a lot of horse having won last time out, however, I thought this one lloked good in its win at Wexford on it's previous outing, on similar going and so would be my pick today.
Away from Aintree, the cards are not as good as yesterdays but also like Bill of Rights and Skyfire at Leicester and Kings Chorister and Bridlington Bygones at Sedgefield. Meanwhile tonight at Wolverhampton, Actonetaketwo is out again in the opener, and if running anything like its last outing, should go in tonight.
