Another thing for QPR is they will have to hope Reading beat Saints and of course get the 3 points against Wigan to have any chance. can see Villa and Sunderland losing aswell mind

Dave its over, I've been one of their biggest supporters in saying they can stay up, but its just too much, its always "if this, if that" "if the teams above", always playing catch up.

They had their chance to beat Norwich at home (missed penalty) and when 1-0 up away to Villa they should have gone 2-0, hit the bar, these are the games which have made it impossible, no luck when needed,

Hopefully for their sake Redknaop will stick around and help them come back near year.

I have to agree with Ellers here. Given AVB's record it seems strange Spurs fans are attacking Hughes.
At the end of the day about 50% of all current PL managers are unproven at this level but Hughes isn't one of them
Hughes isn't the greatest manager i'll agree with that but he has achieved far more in the English game and is held in higher regard than AVB is or could ever hope to be. But as you say comparisons are futile.

Oh, dear!

That's just plain embarrassing!

Mark Hughes always was the most overrated manager in football. He was and remains completely useless. His teams are negative and dull, and he always seems to run out of ideas as a season progresses. He is absolutely the last manager I'd have managing my team. I'd have Ramos back before I took a chance on Hughes, that's how badly I rate him.

QPR need around 15 points from 7 games or possibly 4 wins and two draws, they have the 3rd worst goal difference in the league and there is too much pressure on a group of players that can't fight their way out of the mess.

Thats some difference to teams like arsenal, who have players that have experience of catching teams (which we know) redknapps problem is hughes left him with an unbalanced squad and there are just too many issues to get them out of this mess.

Never did see Ellers around at Christmas to rub our noses in it

I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or nut him! <laugh>

Achieved more, I'm not avb's greatest fan, but he has won a domestic title and a European trophy, and if the two managers became available right now and applied for the same job, you're saying Hughes would be held in higher regard.

Wummage or genuine stupidity, which is it?

you come to expect that view on AVB from a Chelsea fan, they would'nt know a good manager ,even if they fell over one in the street

I'd still give it one more game. Their squad they have should be good enough for midtable so I'd never rule out them being able to show that kind of form and at this stage that kind of form could still save them. If they don't come out showing any fight against Wigan then I'll agree with you.

they will have their work cut out against Wigan, the great escape artist's

QPR are currently 1/14 for the drop.i think that says it all. In fact, I'm surprised the bookies are still accepting bets.

As for Hughes, since his time at Blackbum, he's achieved very little managerially. Which would seem to explain the lack of clamour for his services.

If QPR beat Wigan this weekend, they will be within 4 points of them and Villa and 5 of Sunderland (depending on results). That gives them a chance, especially with Stoke (H) and Reading (A) to play before the end of April.

who are your 3 to come up guys, Cardiff and Hull look likely but what about the other team?

The play-offs normally end up being won by whoever's got the best form, so it'll depend upon how the season ends, in my opinion.
Clubs that just miss out on automatic promotion normally have poor morale and blow it.

Sure, they have a mathematical chance, Luke. But, the bookies are rarely that wrong!..

I agree they are rank outsiders, NSIS, but upcoming fixtures against fellow strugglers in the next few weeks gives them a chance. One team always managers to string a few wins together- could it be them?

The play-offs are a lottery, but I fancy Forest to go up because they are playing for Billy Davies.

I always hope Forest come up but if the league finishes as it is now I wouldn't mind any of those in the playoff spots coming up. I have a sneeky feeling it will be Palace, they're going through a wobble at the moment but they still look the best equipped side to come up.

Speaking of the Championship has anyone seen Will Hughes play? He was getting linked with a lot of Premier League sides earlier in the season and I was hoping I'd see him yesterday but he was injured, I assume. There hasn't been as much fuss made of him lately, I wasn't sure whether he was maybe starting to struggle a bit.
