I never go along with this approach because I personally think it is a bullshit attitude (no offence Zingy), same with peoples views on signing players from relegated teams. There are many that get relegated that are very good players. We often hear that individuals don't make a team, surely if thats is the case then you can't blame one individual for relegation either? When Leeds Utd got relegated they had some exceptional players that moved to win allsorts of medals! Fair enough, that was a bit of a one off but that doesn't mean there aren't some gems in these sides!

Not sure of any players I'd want to see us sign from the current bottom three, maybe Benteke...

Benteke, Remy.... Cesar we don't need.

Saw on twitter where some of the EOTK and those type of accounts were saying, "Where would he play or fit in?"................. Anywhere he wants is the answer!!! <laugh>

This bugs the **** out of me too! Who gives a **** where he would fit in? It is a squad game and he would undoubtedly improve us, sign him up and let BR worry about the starting eleven. Sometimes the fan favourites don't play, get over it!

Sorry lads, ALonso is back so uh, erm, watch and learn. <ok> It would maybe be the only time I wouldn't mind Downing cutting back as he would be giving the ball to the pass master.

Were being linked with De Guzman today on various ****ty websites for £5mil. The Swansea fans wont be happy if this happens but I would expect a few clubs will be in for him if hes available at that price.

I thought De Guzman was there on loan?

Lazy journalism again regardless <ok>

Alonso is a starter for one of the best teams in the world, as well as the European Champions and World Cup Champions. I would definitely take him back!

RUMOUR

Couple of fairly reliable people saying on twitter that deal for Eriksen is close and fee has been agreed, saying £16m and may involve a player

100% Assaidi.

I would love if this is one of the pre-announcements and done early.

I think the price is a bit too steep for a player who's contract runs out in 2014 and not in been the best of form for last year or so. 10 million max is reasonable with Assaidi included.

For the money being quoted we could get some like Diego, he's been one of best players in the Bundesliga this season, which is a much more competitive league and saving Wolfsburg from relegation almost single-handed.

So out starting xi next year will be?

Ochoa
Agger
Lucas - Alonso
Gerrard Allen Eriksen Mklongname Henderson De Guzman
Sturridge

A 1-2-6-1 formation... sounds promising.

Of course mate, but what we really need is experience with Carragher retiring. Look how highly rated Coates was when he came in, and for just 6m. Now it looks like he won't be succeeding here (still time).

RE Zingy because he plays for Swansea does not make him a bad player, perhaps playing alongside Agger, Johnson and Enrique will push him on even further?

Of course buying players with "Prem experience" isn't fool proof, but for me this one makes sense. 10-12m to potentially sure up our defence could be great business in hindsight. If's and but's though we'll just have to see how it pans out. I get the feeling this is a fabricated story anyhow.

No offence taken because that is not what I meant. I was just saying that if Williams was to come here he will not be the leader he is at Swansea, he will very much be Agger's bitch so to say.

He will be decent, but I'd much rather someone else.

Fair enough. I have said I can see AW as a good fit but we should be looking for a younger and definitely cheaper option.

Fairly reliable, or Twitter. Choose one.

Follow a few of the ITKs, and they usually just forecast every possible transfer and eventually one works out. Scattergun approach.

One of their tricks is to wait for a deal to be practically done, then call it. So when the player signs the next day, or during the next few days, they can claim they knew the paperwork was done before anyone else. Even though 99% of fans saw the deal coming.

I hope we do get Eriksen - a seriously talented player who can unlock defences with ease. He's a more experienced and refined version of Coutinho even though he is only a year older. Not only is he a good player, but it's a sign of intent that we can still attract the brightest prospects.

£16m may sound like a lot of a player with only a year on his contract but he is highly regarded around Europe as one of the best young footballers. A regular for Ajax who as we all know are one of the biggest clubs in Holland, features in the Champions League (and performs!) and is a regular for the national team. This is a player who is similar to Sturridge and Coutinho in that he has 'big club' experience as well as playing in big tournaments.

Definitely. It's a minefield.

Imagine a summer of Alonso and Eriksen... screw defenders.
