Other than that, I think Oxford may have just over-stepped the mark with this in today's programme....

Worst pair of tits I've seen since Lowe and Wilde. ****ing horrible.

I knew a girl who was turned down for a boob job on the NHS and wrote to Frank Dobson the then health sec. He arranged for her to have one, that's a true story. I should have sold the story to the sun

So North Korea claims to have entered a "state of war" with South Korea.

One of those wars that have no violence, or anything else for that matter. If South Korea do at some point decide to stop laughing at their pathetic neighbours and take some action, I think it'll be over pretty fast.

North Korea's been in a 'state of war' with South Korea since the 1950s. Technically the Korean War never finished.

Depends if the Russians/Chinese get involved. Hopefully they wouldn't though. I don't want Fallout 3 becoming a reality. I wouldn't last two seconds.

Yep, first point is correct. As for those big scary countries you mentioned, they've already indicated they have no interest in the situation. China has been NK's main ally, but they're getting really sick of their **** and now they're mainly trying to play the mediator and calm everyone down. If a war kicks off, they'll just sit back and tell NK "we told you so" once they've had their arses handed to them.

Oh and I'd be awesome if Fallout became reality. Those hundreds of hours of preparation for such a scenario won't have been in vain.

Yeah I have heard China's position is fairly neutral, which is kind of reassuring but who knows what may actually happen if the **** hits the fan.

Lolol. I imagine for me if Fallout 3 become a reality my 'adventures' would go something like: Step outside house, get torn to pieces by a deathclaw (or trampled to death by brahmin)..... Though I guess it would take some time for them to mutate.

Never played Fallout, so I'm ****ed.

Basically, get as many guns as possible and stay as close to other sane people/people who are unlikely to turn into greed fueled douches with no regard for human life as possible and give up any ideas of going travelling. Even just from Southampton to Bournemouth

Should I start collecting bottle caps now?

Haha. It's funny you should mention that. Back in 2010, I did an internship for a charity in north London, and at lunch time I would go into the local town and to the local bakery (called Gina's Bakery) get a bottle of coke. It was one of the few places I know that sell coke in glass bottles, but I kept all the bottle caps. So I now have quite a good collection of bottle caps for if they become the new currency after a nuclear war. So in answer to your question, I would say yes. Definitely.

Problem about narcotics is that as a form of currency, they would lack the same degree of hardiness and general toughness as things like bottle caps, plus people would use them. However, I imagine in this Fallout 3-esq world, they would be considered a very high value item: people wanting escapism from the utter horribleness of real life perhaps.

The powerful, the ones with means to help themselves and provide services to help others, would use them, as they have no need for currency - power is their currency. This, the weaklings, the underclass, the unpowerful, would need to obtain these services - no better currency than narcotics for that.

The thing about bottle caps though, which is probably why it became a currency in the first place, is that they're very tough and highly resistant to damage. Also, they're light and don't take up much space so you can keep hold of lots of them with minimal effort. Not sure that would be the same with narcotics.

I don't think there are many narcotics that are the size of your fist, if that's what you're saying :p
